Conceived as a simple, cheap, easy to produce family car, the Volkswagen Käfer translated from German into People's Car named Beetle. The car went on to be extremely successful all over the world and "Volkswagen Culture" defined generations of Americans. In July 2003, the last Beetle rolled off the production line in Mexico. Over 21 million units were produced and the little Beetle came in fourth place in the worldwide "car of the century" competition in 1999. GR Auto Gallery... is pleased to present this freshly restored 1978 Volkswagen Beetle for your consideration. The car has been restored and remains in excellent condition. In 2012 it received new brake components, generator, starter, and a full tune up with a receipt showing $1,900 spent on this. The beetle was also given a new carburetor 4 years ago. The paint and chrome show very well and are in excellent condition. The current owner has owned the car 5 years. Upon going through our inspection of the car, we did notice 2 different vin numbers on the car. The one on the dash matches the title however the one on the tunnel underneath the rear seat is different. The Volkswagen Beetle is an automotive icon and respected in all circles. With readily available parts simplicity of design, they are easy classics to own and enjoy. The car offered here in this desirable color combination, will surely pass enjoyment on to the next owner.
