Description of 1991 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon |
This is a one-of-a-kind (around Portland - Vanagon mecca) double door SVX Vanagon. It has approximately 220K on the chassis and a newly installed 230HP 6 cylinder Subaru SVX engine (read last paragraph). I have put enough cash into this van, working with a dedicated Vanaru mechanic making it the beauty you see ..... and I've enjoyed and daily driven it for 4 years ..... but at this point let this be someone else's treasure. Engine: - 3.3L Subaru SVX flat / Boxer 6 cylinder - 230 HP - Fuel injection - Dual overhead camshafts - 4 valves per cylinder - Air conditioning Transmission: - 4 speed manual - Volkswagen Chassis: - Stock style - Power rack and pinion steering - Weitec Performance springs - Koni adjustable shock absorbers - Power 4 wheel disc brakes with over sized front and drilled rotors - MagnaFlow exhaust system Interior: - Stock style with Weekender package - Blue and gray upholstery - cloth & vinyl - Tan vinyl headliner - Gray carpet - Front bucket seats - Rear folding bed / bench seat - Air conditioning (never used) - Cruise control (not working) - Power windows - Power door locks - Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo - in dash with bluetooth - 4 Infinity 6 inch round speakers - 2 Boston Acoustic 6x9 speakers - Infinity Kappa 8 inch sub-woofer - Rockford Fosgate amplifier - under rear seat - Custom front floor mats - Rally Armor mud flaps - 17" Rial rims - Professional hi-grade tint
And its a double door. Very useful for not having to walk around the side all the time to enter back bay. Have not seen another. Originally from Canada, this van has lived on the West Coast all it's life. INcredibly solid body with almost no rust.
Left window needs motor $200 (parts and labor) Driver's mirror flops around (electrics work) Power locks intermittently lock down Inspections welcome. Tire kickers aren't i'm afraid. Issues arising from inspection will impact final price if necessary. ****Note: This vehicle was on sale last year around Mar 2018 but pulled off as I wasn't ready to part with it. End of April van was rear ended by a vehicle while parked. The van was still driveable however 3 weeks or so later the engine spontaneously smoked and died (on way to meet adjusted for the body damage of all times). My mechanic tied the engine failure to the accident but Insurance did not see it this way. While insurance paid for complete body restoration they refused to pay for engine. Since then I have paid out-of-pocket approx $4800 for a new engine to be put in (all receipts in hand). Engine was leak down tested prior to install. I can try and get results though i recommend anyone who buys to perform their own due dilligence. I have received the van back and the roof is being painted (sun damage while in mechanics). After this it will be ready to go. |
