Description of 1986 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Weekender |
1986 Westfalia Vanagon Weekender.Condition is Used. Up for sale is Nugget. A 1986 Vanagon GL Westfalia with Weekender interior. She's a 2WD with 2.1L engine with roughly 232,000 miles to the best of knowledge. The odometer stopped working when I upgraded the dash lights to LED bulbs. She has power steering, runs great and has provided me with many fun memories for the past 2.5-3 years. Sleeps 4. Smog is done and ready your ownership! I have done a lot of mechanical upgrades but she still needs some TLC in the cosmetic area. list of parts I have put on many new parts to increase reliability. All have been done within 10k: New ECU 15" Mercedes rims with t3 technique hardware. general grabber KO2 tires, balanced and alignment done. full brake job fuel pump fuel filter fuel pump relay fuel tank grommets and fuel lines spark plugs, wires, distributor, ignition coil thermostat housing, thermostat and temp sender from gowesty window tint top seal windshield wiper motor gowesty H3 headlight bulb upgrade from gowesty. The headlight adjusters are now broken, so headlights are held in place with a mixture of bolts and zip ties. KYB front shocks Thule gutter mounts I have included a photo of a list of work done from the previous owner. Such as clutch work, exhaust work etc. **************In December of 2018 the VW shop went through all grounds, checked the AFM and installed a new ECU. Drives like a dream and ready for new adventures. She is not a show car! Has some dents on the driver rear panel, that I have pictured and shows very minor surface rust where paint has chipped. There are also paint chips on the front from lots of trail driving. The rear bumper is custom made and could use some extra durable paint. There are two spots the bottom of the rear window that show rust (typical from what I am told). Interior front door panels and sliding door panel were made by previous owner but I will include 2 original brown front door panels and grab handles. The vinyl flooring that i put in has started to come up a little from the summer heat. ************** Winning bidder must secure the sale with a $500 non refundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of completion of the auction. Balance to be satisfied with a wire transfer to my bank account or a Cashiers check in my hands within 72 hours of completion of the auction. I reserve the right to notify bidders and end the auction early without any liability to the bidderssince I have it posted locally as well. The Westy Weekender can be picked up immediately with a bank transfer, or it can picked up after the cashiers check has cleared.
