Description of 1967 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Campmobile SO42 |
Presented here is an extremely original low mileage Volkswagen Type 2 Bus Campmobile for sale. The camper conversion was conducted by Westfalia n Germany when the bus was new, and includes many cabinets, new windows, a modular interior that works as seating and a bed, a refrigerator and sink, a pop-up roof for standing room, and many accessories. This particular Type 2 was fitted with the desirableSO 42 option package. This bus was preserved by its original owner by being kept in a climate controlled garage for many years. The original owner racked up just under 21k miles after buying this car new in 1967, and then let it sit being preserved for a number of years. Once we acquired this automobile, a full service was commissioned and it is now up and running very well. All the originality of this automobile has been kept. Outside the paint has help up remarkably well, a testament for the quality paint Volkswagen used to used. It has no checking or cracking and shined up very nicely as you can see in the photos. This bus has no rot or rust in it at all which is quite remarkable. Notice the condition the roof rack is in as well. The aluminum is in beautiful shape, the galvanized steel has not corroded at all, and the wood has not even cracked. A vehicle in this sort of original shape is extremely rare, especially one of this age. The tent is included in its factory originalbox and appears to have never been removed. The gold cad plated tubing is also brand new in box. The cot is still in the bus and does not appear to have ever been removed from its resting place either. It is extremely rare to find not only a vehicle this original, but then also this preserved. This has to be one of the nicest original Volkwagen Bus Westfalias left in existence today.
