Description of 1977 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Up for sale is an original rust free fuel injected 1st edition Champagne Edition Superbeetle convertible. Floors, support rails and body are near perfect. The vehicle currently shows 5951 miles on the odometer. The oil change sticker on the door jamb documents an oil change in 1995 when the car had 5766 miles. Since I cannot verify actual mileage I would classify it as “true mileage unknown.” The beetle has had just 2 owners over 43 years. The VW sat in a garage for many years, as a result, many parts needed to be changed including most of the brake system components (brake shoes, hardware, master cylinder and wheel cylinders). In addition, the fuel injection system needed an overhaul so the injectors, electronic fuel pump, cold start valve and gas tank were also replaced. The tires had the original bias plies, so new tires were just installed.

The Superbeetle has all the Champagne Edition attributes including the L90E Alpine White paintwork, Silver Grey convertible top, upholstery, door panels, matching rear top boot, Lemmerz “GT” sports wheels, padded steering wheel withsilver embellished horn pad, Maple (1977) veneer dashboard trim andgold stripes along the lower body. Approximately 1000 were produced in total – one for each selected Dealer. The car also has the period correct center console. Additionally, the dash, carpet, headliner, sunvisors, rubber floor mats, chrome bumpers, window chrome (no pitting) and the working AM/FM radio are original and in excellent shape. The original seat upholstery could stand to be replaced, but the original factory color with squareweave pattern is unavailable, so I decided to leave it as is.
