The Volkswagen Beetle is a truly iconic car with a following the world over, and when you look at this beautiful example it's not hard to understand why. This classic 1979 Beetle represents the pinnacle of the original air cooled Beetles as the last year for the convertible model and still being manufactured in Germany. As a send off, VW manufactured a limited run of Champagne edition cars, with extra options not available on the lower models. The first thing that draws your attention is the white on white on white color scheme. Limited to only the Champagne edition, this combination turns heads wherever this bug goes. This particular example has been completely restored and refinished in its original white paint. This means all the fit and finish is outstanding, and this low mileage beauty looks like she just rolled off the assembly line. The bright white top is brand new and goes up and down easily. The styled stamped steel wheels add a very interesting look and once again separate this Champagne model from other lesser Beetles. On the inside, this VW has the most luxurious interior appointments that a Beetle ever offered. There are white vinyl seats, AM/FM radio, wood grain trim, and even a defroster! Under the hood(trunk?) of this beautiful Beetle is a carbureted air cooled flat four cylinder engine linked to a easy shifting four speed manual transaxle. The factory Fuel Injection set up has been removed and a carburetor put in place for reliabilities sake, however all original fuel injection components are included with the sale of the vehicle.
