Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon. THIS BUS IS A PROJECT***But what a great project ! it is a time capsule. I think the mileage showing is correct at 51,000. The stove has never been cooked on. The sink still has the sticker on the inside of the basin. It appears that this bus still has all of is accessories, tarp and posts under the bench seat, all the curtains, mosquito net, both tables, and the center console and of course all cushions done in plaid green including the overhead cushion. I even left all the travel brochures in the console. It was last registered in 2000. As I understand it, the gentleman I bought it from received it as gift from a family member in 2/2017. Having sat inside for 17 years the keys were nowhere to be found. So, he did the next best thing he used a screw driver to get in the door and shoved it in the ignition switch to get it started. He told me he drove it home. But then he let it sit in his yard for the next 2-3 years. Not the way I would have done it. I took the drivers side door panel off so that I could have a key made. That said, this key did NOT open the other locks. The locks work from the inside. Therefore, I left the panel off so the new owner would not have to re-pull the panel while the key issue is resolved. I have not tried to start the bus but I am able turn it through by hand. I will leave breathing new life into this bus up to next owner. There is some rodent damage on the top shelf in the cabinet under the sink. The passenger door and the right headlight have a slight "push". Please see the pictures. I have a clear West Virginia title that has been left blank but has been signed off by the then owner on 2/28/2017. ASK question early. I will gladly email additional pictures if requested. Just know the bus is 2 hours away from me. Please allow time. Winning bidder to pay $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours via PayPal after winning the auction. ANY checks will have to clear before giving possession of the bus. NO exceptions. Personal checks maybe delayed. Cash at time of pickup accepted.
Hello, There is one picture of the underbelly that shows the floor pans, both side are the same. Very nice. The bus was repainted in its original colors at one time. I'm sure this prevented some areas from getting worse. Plus it was garaged for an extended period. The worst rust I could find was in the rear quarters and the battery trays. The second worst was the bottom of the sliding door there is "some bubbling". The lower track has some surface rust but no cancerous rust. You can't see it from 5-10 feet away. It appears that there was body work done there years ago??? The interior of the bus has light surface rust under the drivers carpet. The rest is factory virgin paint...still shiny. The rear of the bus on the interior looks almost new under the cushions. As additional info, at some point the headliner in the front was coming loose and someone thought staples would help...lol. Also, the pop-top fabric is no good but the top works like it should and there is a crack in the windshield. Hope this helps. |
