Description of 1985 Volkswagen Cabrio |
This rare bird is a blast to drive and gets a ton of attention wherever it goes! With 72K original miles there's plenty of miles left for plenty of smiles. It sat for a while so it recently received a brand new battery, alternator, water pump, tires, timing belt, rear brakes, fuel pump, air filter and oil change. It fires right up and runs and drives great. It even comes with the cover for the convertible top when it's down. The Cabrio is all original and isn't perfect but it is in great shape for a 35 year old vehicle. I would rather over describe any issues than leave any important info out. There are a few small tears on the outside and one on the inside of the convertible top that are shown in the pictures. It also has a few dents around it and some very minor hail on the hood that I could only capture in the picture taken outside. Underneath it is clean and relatively rust free. The inside is in great shape and is extremely clean. There is one small split in the middle of the dash in front of the steering wheel. It does have an aftermarket radio (a pull out tape deck!) that I have been unable to get to work. The original ashtray is included but won't currently stay in place. I can't get the dash light to turn on but this may just be operator error. The Cabrio has been parked in the same spot for a couple weeks and I have yet to see any leaks underneath. I haven't done much with the top as it's freezing in Nebraska right now. It does have a salvage title from damage to the front end years ago that appears to have been fixed properly. Feel free to ask any questions. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours from the winning bidder. Local pickup is ok and if you'd like to arrange shipping I will work with the shipper to make sure it's available. Money orders, cashiers checks, and personal checks are accepted but the vehicle will not be released until the money is fully cleared. Cash is also accepted.
