1984 VW Quantum Turbo Diesel Wagon, 5 speed manual. Mechanically new and in excellent running condition. We bought it from an estate sale, the vehicle was stored inside and it shows. Just about everything you can think of mechanically, has been replaced new. Engine was overhauled in Cache Valley Utah by a machine shop that has been servicing the auto industry probably about 30 years. New: engine, a/c, fuel pump, injectors, radiator, tires, shocks, struts, belts, all fluids… and much, much more. Starts and runs like new… has about 1,000 miles with the break in period… and the first oil change was done about a week ago. The shop in Logan that restores older vehicles, does very extensive restoration projects costing $100,000 We have all paperwork and receipts for this restoration with approximately $15,000 in the complete mechanical restoration… to bring this Turbo Diesel Wagon to an excellent mechanical condition. The car drives solid, with no vibrations, shakes or anything like it. Steering is like a new car. Interior door panels are almost like new… it would be hard to find fault with the dash or door panels. Headliner does sag and depending on your personality, either live with it or redo. Hasn’t bothered us. A/C blows cold and was converted to modern standard. Anything that needed attention was fixed. Unique and rare car with no modern computer nannies… or electronics! Absolute joy to drive! It does have couple of minor / small rust spots, and a dent in the back corner. Selling it for what we have into this, which is $16,500. If it doesn’t sell, that’s ok too… ie. The price is what it is. Many older cars of this vintage have 200,000 to 300,000 miles… and nothing to show for in terms of restoration or fixing things up really good. And they still want $10,000 to over $20,000. So, having said that… if you like an old school Turbo Diesel VW… with lots of room, this is a nice one. We are in Preston Idaho.
