"Bad to the bone" Karmann Ghia. I am in the process of completing a refurbishment of this car. It was just re-engined with a used but nice 1600 dual port, single carburetor, Volkswagen engine that sounds fantastic with it's custom header. This car really growls. It has brand new rear air bags, (4) new Empi alloy rims with matching screw on caps, the car is slightly lowered in the front. The bumpers have been removed. Custom nerf bars protect the rear. The painted flames and pin stripes are permanent but the rear fenders are adourned with graphics which are removable. All electrical lights work as they should. The gas tank has been changed to an early style unit the fills under the hood (you open the hood to access the filler cap). This Ghia has a nice sound system. The transmission is a manual 4 speed transaxle with reverse. The clutch and gears are all excellent including reverse. The emergency brake works. The breaks stop the car straight and true. The heater is not yet connected but all muffs and fairings are present. There is no rust evident. I do find some body filler here and there on the car. The paint is shiny but has a few rough spots. In spite of that people flock to this car to take photos and selfies. The glass is all good but the tinting is peeling. The engine just had a brand new carb and fuel pump installed this October. The car starts and runs nicely. The sheet metal around the engine is present but not yet installed, likewise the new firewall insulation blanket from J-Bugs. The front tires slightly scrape the fender openings in hard turning. I plan to reshape the fender arches "slightly to remedy that. I have a clean, clear Mississippi Title in my name in hand. The Ghia is presently registered as an antique. It is insured and on the road just recently. I recommend trailering this car to sort out any unknown challenges closer to home. It has very little test mileage. I am selling my beautiful Karmann Ghia to purchase a vintage 1954 MGTF so need the cash. Thanks for looking and bidding.
