Description of 1966 Volvo Other |
I am the original owner of the car. It was the last shipment for this model (1966 Volvo 544 Sport B18D engine) to the U.S. The engine was rebuilt in the late 1990’s. The cylinder walls were sleeved. The speedometer cable broke years ago. It has over 300,000 miles before engine rebuild. My guess is the rebuilt engine has less than 100,000 miles. Th odometer stopped working a long time ago. The engine is in good shape. The dual barrel carburetors function well except for a plastic tube which needs a little better repair. This is a project car and needs a lot of cosmetic work. 1) Radiator from a 122 Volvo 2) Engine rebuilt and sleeved in late 1990s 3) Barrel type carburetor – plastic tubes need to be repaired 4) Windshield wipers – non-functional 5) Rust out areas around windshield 6) Gauges on dash non-functional except generator and oil pressure lights 7) Steering wheel functional 8) Turning signal was an add-on 9) Brakes are functional 10) Ceiling liner missing 11) Floor boards rusted on sides 12) One floorboard replaced in rear 13) Seats are made of wood on original frame 14) Back seat not in car: in storage: needs repair 15) Doors windows need work 16) Front end in fairly good condition 17) Exhaust muffler on rear removed 18) Rust around rear window 19) One new tire 20) Removed ignition switch, se screwdriver to crank 21) Choke cables non-functional, ull string for one carburetor choke 22) Brakes work great, ebuilt recently 23) Clutch, ransmission, riveshaft all work well 24) New battery 25) Runs and drives |
