Description of 1964 Volvo Other p 1800

1964 Volvo P1800 Restoration Project showing 11,414 miles (unable to confirm, o listed as 111,414) offered by Gas Monkey Garage with . . The P1800 project was started in 1957 because Volvo wanted a sports car. The man behind the project was an engineering consultant to Volvo, elmer Petterson, ho in the 1940s was responsible for the Volvo PV444.The car was presented to the public for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1960._____________________________________ A white 1962 Volvo P1800 driven by Simon Templar, layed by Roger Moore, as featured in the TV series The Saint beginning in 1962 and played a prominent role throughout the entire run of the show. Roger Moore was so smitten with the Volvo P1800 that he bought one for his own personal use. When asked to name his favorite "movie cars", oore stated it was the Volvo P1800, ommenting: "I have a great affection for the Volvo P1800, s, f course, owned one, s well as used one in the series. It’s a beautiful car and I still drive a Volvo to this day." _____________________________________________________ ____A 1966 Volvo 1800S and its owner Irv Gordon of East Patchogue, ew York, SA own the Guinness world record for highest mileage in the same vehicle he has been driving since 1966, e has driven about 26,000 of those miles outside of the U.S., n Canada and Mexico, s well as in Europe. "In Sweden, e drove to Volvo's global headquarters to see where the P1800 was born", ordon said the car surpassed the 3 million mile mark in Alaska in September 2013.______________________________ I found this fairly complete example of the Iconic Swedish Sports Car in a private collection here in Texas where it has been stored for quite some time and not driven in over 10 years! This 1964 Volvo P 1800 has been owned by the same owner since 1971 who enjoyed the car so much that when he was no longer able to drive it he simply stored it. Unfortunately though, ime and the elements were not very kind to this car which had some body work done in the past and when you mix new rust with old bondo and some fiberglass, ell, t isn’t pretty!(see all pics!) The exterior is fairly complete with most trim present as well as good glass and tight, olid doors. ________________________ The interior is mostly complete making for an easy restoration if you choose to pursue a museum quality Volvo P1800 and includes a unique rear seat A/C unit added. The engine had not been started in years and will need complete servicing before attempting to start it for the first time and as the car hasn’t been driven in years and will also need complete servicing and inspection to ensure reliability and safety before you will be able to drive this car! No assessment or determination of functionality can be made of any component or system on this car. (DUE TO OUR FILMING SCHEDULE WE CAN NOT PERFORM ANY SERVICE OR REPAIRS OR BUILD THIS CAR FOR YOU) you will need to have it towed or trailered from here_________________ Underside pics reveal a fairly solid chassis and suspension presence with minimal superficial rust present (again, ee all pics). (SOLD AS IS/WHERE IS).If you’re looking for a good example of the iconic Swedish sports car, on’t miss a rare opportunity to own this one as you won’t find a better project P1800 that’s priced to sell!
