This is an excellent example of a classic Volvo 544. I first saw the car when a long time customer bought it and brought it to my Volvo shop in 2005 for some tlc. I was told he got it from the second owner so I am now the fourth. The odometer read approximately 6000 miles that I believe was 106,000 because of the condition of the suspension and steering and the car overall, have owned maybe a dozen 544 drivers over the years including the first one I got with 60,000 miles. This car was unrestored but extremely well kept. The car was in excellent running and driving condition with some upgrades that I believe had been done by the original owner; front disc brakes, PD sway bars and retractable shoulder harnesses. It appears to have had one repaint that is showing it's age but still looks good, ome engine parts were chromed and are also aging as is the left section of the rear bumper. Carpeting had been added, he seat covers don't seem original and the dash pad is either replaced or excellent original. The car has been garaged for as long as I have known it. I was given a free hand when working on the car to do as I saw fit; the engine was rebuilt with .060 bore, treet cam, ual outlet exhaust manifold and header pipe plus a 2 1/4" exhaust system, ew clutch and trans rebuild with new bearings and synchros. New Continental ContiproContact 175/55 x 15 tires were installed and a custom trailer hitch was added that was used to tow a small trailer to the Volvo Club of America meets the owner attended, he car is a consistent 2nd in class winner including the 2012 national meet. The owner added about 11,000 miles to the car in the six years he owned it when I traded him another classic Volvo for it in 2011, t has been about another 1,000 miles since and the odometer now reads 18,126. The car is 99% plus rust free, here are two spots of rust, hey are both on the bottom of the rear body panel where they meet the rear fenders, he one on the right has a small hole but there is no other rust on the car.
