This is an all original, nadulterated Volvo 122s. I am the third owner and have owned the car since 2008. The second owner had it for 3 years. All three owners always kept the car garaged. The odometer reads 97, 50 (but may increase slightly as I will still drive the car some until sold). I believe this to be the actual mileage but can't prove that as the 2nd owner's wife tossed out the service records kept by the 1st owner. I think when you see the car, ou will agree. It has obviously been softly driven. The first owner was a Stanford University Professor who kept the car until he passed away. The car has always been in the San Francisco Bay area and has its original black CA plates in very good original condition. I have driven and owned Volvo 122 cars for 35 years. I still own three of them. Unfortunately, ue to a divorce I can't keep them all. I had the car repainted (exterior only) by our best local paint shop with Dupont Chromabase in 2008 as the original paint on the top surfaces was in need. It is a superb paint job. Since being painted there is one small parking lot door ding on the driver's door. Other than that I can't find even a scratch on it. The car has never had any significant rust or body damage. I took some pictures under the floor mats to show that there is no body rust at all in this car and never has been (other than some minor surface rust areas in the engine compartment which has never been touched. The engine compartment, runk interior, oor jambs, nd passenger interior are still all original paint (see photos). I don't believe that the transmission has ever been taken out thus it still has the original clutch in it. The engine compression was 150 lbs in all 4 cylinders when I last gave it a tune up. I have only driven this car 12k miles in the time that I have owned it. I did put in a stock distributor with electronic ignition parts (from IPD) to replace the points and condenser. The original distributor will be included with the car. I change oil every 3k miles on the engine and every 10k and the transmission and rear-end. This car has no mechanical issues and can be driven any where. This car has never needed anything other than maintenance work. The suspension is still all original except for the shock absorbers. It has KYB shocks as the originals were tired. The exhaust is relatively new and stock. The brake system has been thoroughly gone through. I did add a Lockheed brake booster (popular upgrade) as I don't consider these cars safe to drive without one. It is on the original 122 mounting bracket. I also put in Hella H4 headlights for safety. The dash pad is in excellent condition (not original but replaced with OEM Volvo part from Volvo dealer). The rear floor mat has been replaced with OEM as well. The front floor mat and trunk mat are still original original as is all of the rest of the interior (even the interior piping around the doors). The original jute and sound proofing are untouched under the floor mats and in great shape. The interior is excellent but does have a few small areas where upholstery seams are opening as shown in photos (one corner on each front seat back and one spot on top of rear seat about 2 inches). The material is fine but the old stitching has broken. The left side of the drivers seat cushion has a wear area as seen in photos. The door panels as one can see from the photos are almost perfect as is the headliner and all the chrome including door handles. The bumpers are original also with the optional over-rider bar to protect the front panel and although the chrome is good is does show its age. The low mileage of this car really shows in the condition of all of its small parts: from attachment screws to seat frames, o dash trim and window trim, eat belts even still have the decals on them- it is all in wonderful condition. More like the car is 10 years old instead of 50. The tires are nothing special just the standard size for a 122. The rears are new but the fronts have maybe another 5k of tread. This size tire is getting tougher to find but I did want to stay original. The rims are exceptionally nice and have the optional beauty face trim as seen in the photos. If you want a restored car, his is not it. If you want an original car in great condition, his is one that you will be happy you found. I would not be selling it if I didn't have to.
