It's a long way from budget-conscious to high-style hot rod, ut it's a familiar road for the Willy's Americar. Originally envisioned as inexpensive transportation for the masses at the outset of World War II, he Americar has become a favorite of hot rodders everywhere. After the war, he Americars were discarded when repair costs would have exceeded their value. Found in scrap yards or cast off by their former owners, illy's with dead engines or other catastrophic failures became a fodder for the burgeoning drag race scene. Hot Rodders quickly fell in love with the short wheel base,-barley bigger than a VW Beetle-and light construction. So began the tradition of modifying these curvy coupes to create something totally unique and undeniably powerful. Completed in 2014, ark's Monster Garage of Sarasota, L, as continued that tradition with this example. A fiberglass Outlaw Performance body keeps the weight low, llowing the 502/876 HP engine with its 6-71 blower to really shine in the quarter mile. No detail was ignored, he 700R automatic transmission, ildwood disc front brakes and billet pulley system show that attention was paid in all the right places. Inside, lligator leather upholstery adds an exotic touch and makes a true street/strip hot rod. Billett pedals, didit tilt steering column and Dakota digital dash gauges round out the classic rod look. The car is finished in a dazzling Orange Flame Pearl with subtle "ghost flames" on the nose. The body is fully shaved inside and out, own to the push button doors, indows and trunk-but the Borla exhaust lets the power under the hood shake things up. No longer humble budget transport. this Willy's coupe is reborn and ready to rock! Call 941-928-2339 www.americanclassiccarsales.com
