Description of 1950 Willys |
WellI'msure no expert onWilly's, ut I have beenbuilding this wagon for the last few years. I ran out of health, ime and money for it so nowits time to say goodbye. Here is what I know, nd as honestly as I know it...ThisWillys hasbeen sitting idle except for runs to the repair shop for the last 2 or 3 years.I put a lot of work and money into it, ut it is aprojectand needs to be finished. Thisvehicle is 60 years old and being sold as is. Itis currently tagged/insured and running.I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than bedisappointedin any way. The minus's would be that the interior needs finished, nd lots of final assembly and detail remains. There are misc. parts in the back of the truck to help finish. Seats, rim, tc. Here are someoftheplusesabout the vehicle... Most of the hardmechanicalstuff is all finished. The vehicle was COMPLETELYdismantled. The frame was checked for straight, edia blasted and sealed/painted The springs were rebuilt in Las Cruces, M by an ole' Willys Jeep mechanicThe engine is a 1964 AMC 232 3 speed manual with the T-90 transmission The axles are both updates from a donor 1995 (if I remember) Jeep YJ (Power-Disc up front). All new brakes, rake lines. This willy's also has power steering and a brand new exhaust system(complete). The steeringcolumnis a jeep wrangler unit. ALL the glass is NEW and some of the rubber (front windshield, ear hatch, wo rears is new) Current seats were from a donor and redone in black leather. It has a new "painless" harness but needs some finishing. The horn is push button and is somehow mis-wired and blown a fuse. Thegaugesare all new, xcept the speedometer is original. Gas is new but reads empty - I put a new float in so might just be sticking. Ithas new shocks, ew batteryThe tires are older but still in good condition. The body is in good condition for it age... NO major rust (small stuff here and there) Both side panels were replaced with factory originals. It's sure not perfect andsomewhatof a project. If you like to tinker with the smaller stuff, his may be of interest to you as the major drive-train stuff is all but done. (engine-trans-drive shafts-brakes-exhaust etc.).I have tried to take good photos to show its overall condition. 1/28/16 - UPDATEUpdate::Starter was completely rebuiltUpdate::ALL lights - turn signals, eadlights(and high beams), rake lights, nd back up work. Update::4WD was NOT connected after the axle upgradesUpdate:: Front floor pan pictures addedUpdate:: Pictures of the two seats I have that go with the Willys added I have a clear and open Maryland title for it. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when it came my way. I am honest and dependable, nd the winning bidder can count on my help for an easy transaction...Thanks.Terms of sale...
