1933 Willys 77 Standard Sedan 134 ci. - 4 Cyl. Engine 3 Speed Manual Transmission Bucket Seats Factory Tinted Glass Optional Artillery Wheels
I have have the privilege to offer this very rare, original style restored 1933 Willys 77 Sedan. Most of these have been turned into street rods and this is one of the few that still retains it's originality. The car was originally saved from extinction about 40 years ago and was originally green but the new colors do suit it well. This is an older restoration (about 20 years ago) with low miles and been garaged ever since. This car is very clean, it has a few blemishes in the paint from age but is still very presentable. I have highlighted the blemishes on the fenders, there are a few chips and minor scratches on the blue paint but not enough to detract from it's overall appearance. The chrome presents itself very well, the panels fit well and all the glass in in excellent condition. The body work is not perfect, some minor panel imperfections but definitely presentable for most people. The interior is done to resemble the original, very nicely done. There is a little wear on the drivers side carpet but other than that it looks like it did in the 30's. All of the gauges work but I wouldn't rely on the fuel gauge as it showed a 1/4 tank with only 2 gallons in the tank. I drove it a short distance and would say the speedometer is pretty accurate. The engine is the 134 ci. 4cyl, it runs good after rebuilding the carburetor and cleaning the plugs. It does have a cracked head, this is an external crack that doesn't cause coolant to enter the cylinders. I've read that this is a common problem with the early heads, it was repaired with epoxy and believe it could be repaired properly with a weld but that is up to you and your machine shop. It's also possible to find a replacement head if you search the web and the Willys forums. I drove it a very limited distance to access that transmission shifted properly and the brakes functioned well. I was impressed with the overall drivability. Aside from the carburetor rebuild and cleaned plugs, it has new oil, flushed fuel system, drain and fill on the coolant and a new battery. I also checked the transmission and differential levels. You aren't going to find another original styled Willys for sale, the last one I could find was sold in 2012. The auction is for a very hard car to find.
