Description of 1975 BMW 2002

1975 BMW coupe in great condition. Much work done in past 3 years. Original "pastelblu" color non-rusted Idaho car. Owned by older gentleman. garaged for some time awaiting restoration. I think it is a fully numbers-matching car. Now daily driver in very good condition. Body is solid. suspension. brakes. driving is good. I have found no evidence of any body damage. Not perfect -still a 40 year old car. but a pretty darn nice one! There are a few bugs to work out: Speedometer reads too fast. sometimes miles advance. sometimes not. May need to rebuild the gauge? Motor sometimes gives a blue puff of smoke when started -sometimes not. but does not leak or drip. and compression tested at 140's to 150. Needs a factory jack for it. Turn signals work. but have to hand-cancel them (manually). Tires are older. but inspected by Les Schwab and verified they are in good condition. Ready for your radio. Dash has numerous small cracks. but looks decent overall. Has full set of under-dash covers in great condition (those black fiberboard covers to hide the wiring). Doors. trunk. hood all open and close nicely. gaps all align very well. Rockers. spare tire well. shock towers all very solid! The pictures will verify this. All original smog parts are in place except for the original carb and the muffler. so it should be acceptable for California buyers. Following is a list of recent improvements:New paint back in 2013. stunning shine. no dents. scratches or even rock chips. ew upholstery. front and back. ew carpets. padding. ew headliner. New wood laminate door cards. treated to resist moisture. ew front and rear glass rubbers. chrome liner inserts. windshield wipers. ew German made lowering kit. springs. and KYB lowered shocks on all 4 corners. ew exhaust pipes and rear dual Ansa sport exhaust. ew battery. clutch master and slave cylinder. front and rear brakes. rotors. pedal assembly rebuilt. ebber carb. freshly rebuilt. fresh tune up. fresh front-end alignment. and safety inspection. umper shocks shortened for better bumper placement. Vintage wheels came on car. Freshly refurbished with Alpina center caps and new lug nuts. Original "Steelie" wheels available instead of aluminum rims if preferred. Over $8. 00 in receipts plus countless hours in restoration and detail work. Again. not a perfect car. but probably nicer than most of the 2002's you see. Now my wife has purchased a pretty new BMW and wants her garage space back. so help me find a dry garage that this awesome little '02 can hang out in until the sun shines!See the pics below. and check out my blog to see this and other cars that I have restored over recent years. I am not a dealer. but work a desk job. so look forward to working on cars in my spare time. Go to: porscheguy. blogspot. com (copy and paste to url line). East Coast Bidders: If you live EAST of the MISSISSIPPI. and are the winning bidder. I will pay $500 towards your shipping to help cut your costs for being farther away. Thanks for helping this to work for all of us! -Doug(Oregon license plates stay with the car if sold in Oregon. Miles advance normally. Cable housing was loose. Needle still reads too fast. but odometer is fine. And just to clarify the obvious. the 16. 23 miles would be turned over and actually is 116. 23.
