Description of 1951 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall Suburban 3106

Description is to the best of seller's knowledge. This is a recent find and it will not last long at this price.

Here is a mostly complete 1951 Chevy Carryall Suburban Model 3106 barn door wagon in stock condition, s found.

Please read the description, hich is subject to change. We have purchased another Suburban, nd no longer need this one or any of the parts we had accumulated for it.

Good clear fresh title in our name per ebay rules.

Suburban is GM's longest running model, n continuous production for more than 75 yrs.

Repro parts and good used pickup truck stuff is pretty easy to find. The same basic design was used from 1948-1953.

The Suburban uses mostly the same undercarriage and mechanical stuff as short wheelbase pickup truck except for the gas tank, eats, nd of course the body.

This 51 truck has the door venti pane windows, hich was the first year for them. The air duct doors also changed from the side to the middle of thecowl only in 1951.

This example is believed to have spent most of its life in Kansas.

The standard Chevy carryall color was forrester green. It seems most if not all trucks were painted green first, hen if somebody ordered an optional color, t was overlayed on top of the green.

The 51 seems to have been one of the optional colors, reme. Somebody later brush painted it orange, hich also was a factory optional color.

This is a floor shift tranny.

Barn doors are solid withsome dents.

Better sheet metal than most. Some rust in the front floors, nd the rear corners, hich also have the typical holes in the bottoms.

Roof and window lines are good.

Therewas evidentlya replacement of the original left front fender and hood to have been changed out at some point in the ancientpast.

Doors fit and close asthey should. Frame looks good and straight from what we can tell so far.

There is a small puncture wound to the back driver side pillar sheet metal maybe from backing into something.

I do not see any cracking of the door hinge pillar areas as sometimes happens on these old wagons.

Has the two front seat cores and the frames. No rear seat frames or cores, hey were gone before I got this truck.

Good dash and instruments are present but do not know yet what works and what does not.

There is a gas tank but unknown if it is usable.

There is an old radio in the dash but may not be factory. It did have factory radio option originally installed based upon antenna stub being in correct place.

Two running boards as shown in the pics, nd the brackets are solid.

Ceiling cardboards are gone but somesmall interior trim items arestill present.

Complete drive train.

Engine presently installed in the 1951 does NOT turn. The truck is not currently in operating condition.

Brakes are not working, ut the vehicle rolls freely for transport.

We are planning to start doing some work in January, o the asking price will go up after that time based upon the improvements made.

Located near Lafayette, ndiana, halfway between Chicago and Indianapolis), ust off of interstate highway 65.

We can also do a complete restoration, r partial mechanical and cosmetic work here at additional cost, hatever you would like.

We do have some spare parts and a donor truck we had purchased. While not included in this auction, uyer of the 1951 could negotiate with us reasonably for anything that he or she might need.

As is where is as of December 31, 015.

Any improvements in January, uch as body work, aint stripping, lass replacement, rakes and mechanical work, will beat aactual dditional cost.
