Description of 1968 Chevrolet Impala Biscayne |
Your are bidding on a possibly the lowest mileage and best 1968 Biscayne in the USA with 9000 original documented miles. This car was bought by one of my family members in 2007 with 4100 documented miles, originally a 250 CU IN 6 with 3 speed manual, they converted it to a custom re-built 1965 283 V8 (estimated at 300-325 HP) which had only 20,000 miles prior to the rebuild. Engine bay is fully detailed to resemble a 327 V8. The engine was bored to 311 Cu IN, engine has Monte Carlo SS custom built heads, mild cam, MSD electronic ignition, (upgraded to run on today's unleaded gas) 100 AMP one wire alternator, PS, new Edlebrock Performer 4 barrel carb, and intake manifold, 2 1/2 " custom stainless steel dual exhaust, upgraded radiator, new springs, shocks, more. Interior is 100% original and mint, with new correct rugs. New turbo 350 rebuilt automatic transmission with cooler, set up to look like a 4 speed with a B&M shifter. All new brakes, wheel cylinders, wheels, tires and high output H4 headlights. Detailed undercarriage. Gas tank was removed, cleaned, reinstalled with a new sending unit. I purchased this car in 2015 from my relative with 7600 documented miles. I have a clean NJ title showing mileage is actual.I had a professional repaint done in 2016 (original color) with base coat/clear coat and car was stripped to bare metal, car was rust free. The original lacquer paint was faded and cracking. Inside trunk is 100% original with original spare and jack. Car drives like a new car, 100% rust free, always garaged from new. Chrome is excellent. Original tinted glass is like new. A factory radio delete car, working heater. Runs great, fast and smooth. This is an excellent car, and I recommend a full inspection prior to buying, I have done what I believe is an honest description. As the buyer you may inspect this car and determine if it fits your needs and meets your standards. Failure to inspect car is not a reason not finish a buying transaction or return car. I am disclosing the following items: Horn does work and is wired to a switch on the steering column; engine can leak oil sitting (engine was fully rebuilt about 2008, and has about 5000 miles on it); two paint flaws (one on rear panel near trunk and on on lower drivers door each about 1" round.- they would not photograph) - these are hard to see, especially in the sunlight, I would rate this car a 8-9 out of a possible 10 (I am known to be very hard on evaluating my own cars). Seats were professionally covered to preserve the mint upholstery. These were hand made $600 covers, not some cheap throw away covers. This car constantly wins best of show, survivor class or peoples choice wherever it goes. It actually draws as much or more attention than Camaro's, Corvettes, etc. Includes original owners manual, warranty book with Protecto-Plate, owners manual packet and original dealer sticker on rear bumper and original tire pressure decal in glove box. TERMS: no warranty, no refunds, no returns. Buyer to inspect car and ask all questions before purchase. Can be shown by appointment, my cell is 908-963-4854. Payment due within 72 hours via wire transfer only, deposit required via Paypal. Buyer is responsible for shipping, all taxes, export/customs fee's etc. I have a clean NJ title. Car is stored inside, would like it picked up within 2 weeks of purchase. Funds must clear to release car. Check my feedback! On Sep-03-17 at 12:58:47 PDT, seller added the following information: I have a few answers to some bidders questions:1. Battery is 1 month old2. Gauges are Auto Meter high end mechanical type, 3rd gauge is a clock - all working order3. Yes, there is a Carter electric fuel pump4. I forget which mufflers are on the car but they are not quite (not ear piercing either). This is a personnel thing. They have a throaty deep tone.5. All lights work including dashboard lights. Interior light bulb I think is burnt out and the only light not working. |
