Description of 1987 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado

  • If you're into Square Body Chevy trucks, this is the one you want. The 1987 was the last year for the Square Body, and the First year for Fuel Injection.
  • In addition to that, this truck is most desirable because it is a Black Short Bed.
  • The truck has the 5.0 8 cylinder motor with a 3-speed Automatic tranny. Only 139k on the odometer, believed to be actual miles.
  • The body is laser straight, rust free, and professionally painted only 2 years ago. Bed was removed for the new paint, so the back of the cab and the front of the box look as good as the rest of the truck. The inner bed floor was not painted as the prior owner had a plastic bedliner in it, which I quickly removed. Pictures will show a good honest rust free bed. I put on new bumpers, brackets, bezels, tail lights, and more. When it was painted, the trim was deleted for a nice clean smooth look. I put brand new Ridler 15" wheels on it, but kept the height of the truck stock.
  • The interior is red, and in really good shape. Seat is nice with no tears or stains, and matching headliner looks just as nice. Dash pad was replaced just before we purchased the truck. Carpet is so-so, but not torn up or worn out.
  • ALL GAUGES WORK! Fuel gauge (for both tanks), speedometer, oil pressure, volts, water temp, and even the clock! All electrical accessories function as they should, including horn, all lights, turn signals, dash lights, etc. The only thing that doesn't work is the aftermarket cassette stereo, which I assume should be replaced anyways. Power door locks and power windows work, but passenger side window is kind of slow.
  • I replaced the entire engine wiring harness for the fuel injection and computer as prior owner had hacked up the wiring. While doing this, I replaced virtually ever sensor and relay on the engine, and did a complete rebuild of the TBI. Put in a new distributor as well.
  • I removed the bed, dropped both fuel tanks and inspected everything. I found the passenger tank was shot so installed a new one. Driver side tank was fine. I also installed 2 new fuel pumps and sending units. I also installed a new fuel selector switch in the dash, and a new fuel selector valve under the truck.
  • Truck runs great
  • I also did a complete refurb of the A/C system, including a new compressor, system flush, all new O rings, and converted it to R-134. Blows COLD!
  • This Southern truck has many years of enjoyment left in it.
  • The is a Reserve auction to protect my investment. The Reserve price is VERY REASONABLE as I need to sell this quickly. Too many other projects going on. I've seen other R10s selling in the area 4 or 5 thousand dollars more than our reserve. Bid stout, bid often, and please don't ask what the reserve price is. If you hit the reserve, the truck is yours. I will not tolerate people "fishing" for my reserve price, then cancelling their bid.
  • If you have questions, don't hesitate to call me at 704-660-9440.
  • Buyer is welcome to inspect truck before the end of the auction, by appointment, in Mooresville, NC. Shipping arrangements are the buyers responsibility.
  • Immediate non-refundable deposit via Paypal is required immediately after your winning bid. Balance of payment is due in 3 days via Cash, Cashiers check drawn on a major bank, or wire transfer. The truck has a clean North Carolina title.
