Question: WHY DOES THE TRUCK HAVE A REBUILD, REBIULDABLE, RECONSTRUCT TITLE? THANK YOU, DAVE

Greetings. In Oregon, anytime a vehicle is in an accident and the cost to repair is more than the value, the insurance company becomes the owner and subsequently sells the vehicle for salvage. I have no idea when in the last 60 years this might have happened and the state of Oregon will not divulge this information. I can only surmise, if the damage happened in the late '60s, 70s, 80s, or even '90s, these trucks had such a low value, it wouldn't have taken much damage for them to be "totaled". Anyone who buys one of these vehicles and repairs it, can upon inspection, apply for a "reconstructed" title with the Oregon DMV. After I purchased the truck to restore, I removed the paint and when I reached the last layer, all the sheet metal was the original blue with the exception of one front fender that had been replaced. This led me to believe the truck's body, apart from the replaced fender, had not sustained any damage in an accident. I also checked the frame and determined it was straight and had not been damaged or repaired. Thank you for your question.
Thank you for the quick and informative response to my question. Very nice truck. Dave
