Description of 1962 Chevrolet Corvette

Well. I can't believe I'm doing this. as I told my wife to NEVER let me sell this. but the time has come to let my baby go to a new home as I have just purchased a Porsche Panamera S. I have spent at least $20. 00 (records/receipts will come with the car) just in the past year and a half making the car not only stunning to look at. but to drive just as well. It has been "dressed" like a '61. with painted white coves/chrome side spears. and more attractive '61 door panels/seat covers. I recently had the NOM motor completely rebuilt (now a 350ci with mild cam. full roller rockers. forged pistons. steel crank. solid lifters. etc pushing out around 425hp. WAY more than stock. but also WAY more fun!). heavy duty radiator (runs super cool all day long). the interior redone to a gorgeous showroom new appearance (everything replaced including dash pad. door panels. seat covers. carpet and steering wheel). suspension mods/traction bars (car tracks nice and straight). added power steering and front disc brakes. rebuilt rear drum brakes. and purchased a few other things including an original factory hard top (read below). a set of original hubcaps will come with the car to take back to stock look if desired. and 4 brand new tires that are on the car. There is also a custom made dual exhaust which sounds amazing without being obnoxious. No expense has been spared. There are less than 1. 00 miles on the rebuild! The paint looks fantastic for being an older job and is smooth as glass. shiny. and deep. but is not a flawless $20k "show quality" job. and has a few hairline cracks and chips but nothing that detracts from its beauty. It will still impress your friends. neighbors. and your local car cruise fans alike. The car is turn key ready and needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately and for many years to come! The frame is very clean. it's nice and black. Always a Southern car. Some cool history. the car was an NHRA drag car back in the 60's and 70's. and still wears it's authentic and very rare NHRA scatter shield (worth a bunch of money alone!). hence the cars low original miles of a little over 50. 00. most being accumulated 1/4 mile at a time down the track. LOL Obviously the engine is no longer original. but to the best of my knowledge the 4 speed tranny and rear end are original to the car. The previous owner had the car for 33 years. so this is not some wet rag that's been passed around every few years. If you're looking for a Bloomington Gold Survivor. this is not the car for you. however. if you're looking for a more drivable and enjoyable vintage C1 Corvette that will impress everyone at your local car cruises. regional shows. and put a smile on your face every time you get in it. then this IS the car for you. Plus. this is better than money in the bank. increasing in value year after year. The car was originally a high horsepower 6. 00rpm tach car. which is still present and working. All gauges work except the clock. go figure. But hey. it's correct twice a day. LOL All lights. including interior courtesy lights. work. The "available" optional hard top is an original with a beautiful white headliner. very nice chrome and stainless trim. and clear plexiglass. It needs to be painted to match the car. and is available to the winning bidder to purchase for an additional $3. 00. It is NOT included in the winning bid unless the BUY IT NOW option is clicked. The white soft top is also in very good condition and the plastic window is clear with very minimal discoloration/fogging. The photo of the car with the soft top up was taken the day I bought the car years ago. (before I replaced the mirrors. interior. and tires). The chrome bumpers and other chrome on the car is very presentable "driver quality". PLEASE only bid if you are a serious. financially able buyer. Sorry. but there are too many "dreamers" out there that just waste time. $65. 00 is the current "market value" and what the car has been appraised/insured for through Hagerty Classic Insurance. I am not looking for ANY trades at this time. I have set the reserve at a reasonable price. and I have the car listed in other places. Feel free to contact me to discuss my car or to make an offer. I am a private collector. not a dealer. so all sales are final and with no warranty expressed or implies. Ask all questions before bidding. I am also selling several of my Porsche 911's so be sure to check out my other listings. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
