Four Wheel Disc Brakes. Power Brakes. Power Steering. Seatbelts. Vinyl Interior. Restoration Receipts SELLER REMARKS Chrysler's E-body twins. the Cuda and the Challenger. remain A-list muscle and this 1970 Dodge Challenger offers all the explanation you'll need. In-your-face aggressive. it backs up its awesome look with a 440 cubic inch big block and Six Pack induction. suggesting that if you have the proverbial big stick. walking softly is purely optional. OK. we'll deal with the obvious stuff first: the blacked-out nose. If it's not for you. that's OK. but if you like your muscle to look a little sinister. then please stick around because this one gets everything right. The graphite colored hood treatment that extends to the fenders is actually quite nicely done. with crisp masking and a cool satin finish that looks slick. It follows the contours of the fenders. leading you to a set of Road Runner style stripes that finish the look. Underneath. there's Hemi Orange paint that's in excellent condition. the perfect foundation for a fast car that's used to getting attention. Panel alignment is quite good and they resisted the urge to stick a Go-Wing on the deck lid. so as this car pulls away. you can see how clean it really is. All the original chrome remains in place and in good shape. but things like the door handles and sport mirrors were color-matched to the body to update the look a little bit. If you want predatory. this Challenger delivers. The interior is pretty stock. but you've already noticed the bright orange piping on the reproduction seat covers. Together with the painted steering column. there's enough contrast inside to be interesting and if you've seen the very monochromatic interiors these cars had originally. it's a welcome change. A center console is another welcome upgrade and the original dash now has a carbon fiber fascia and a full set of Auto Meter Phantom gauges that are even cooler than the factory Rallye instruments. New carpets. a dash pad that's in excellent condition. and there are more carbon fiber accents on the door panels and center console. There's an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo entertainment system. too. so you're not stuck with the original Music Master AM radio. and the trunk is outfitted with a correct mat. But the real story on this car is underneath all that Hemi Orange paint. a thumping 440 cubic inch big block topped by a factory Six Pack induction system. Lifting the hood on a compact muscle car and finding this much engine underneath is always impressive. and with the fully dressed engine. there's a lot to see. The graphite-colored engine bay is a neat twist that highlights the Hemi Orange engine block and air cleaner. and finned valve covers give it a racy look. Edelbrock carburetors. new hoses. plug wires. and fittings. and a Mallory ignition system show that this car has been properly maintained and with that much cast iron over the front axle. power steering and brakes are welcome additions. The TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission happily churns the power aft to a beefy Dana 60 rear end. so you probably don't have to worry about breakage unless you do something crazy. Long-tube headers and a fresh dual exhaust system provide a spectacular engine note and there are four-wheel disc brakes for when things threaten to get out of hand. 18-inch Boss Motorsport wheels fill the fenders and carry staggered 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear performance radials. Definitely fast. this Challenger more than backs up its audacious look with serious horsepower. If that kind of brash attitude appeals to you. then this is your car.
