Description of 1968 Dodge Coronet 440

See additional picture and video links below.

Over $40,000 in this car, including lots of restoration work. Includes many extras that I have not even had time to put on (including chrome rocker panels, replacement rear light bezels, official Mopar factory restoration stickers (for the trunk, under the hood, door jamb areas, etc.). I’m selling because I have another car that I am tinkering with now and hardly play with this one anymore.

New parts that have been installed include: carpet, mats, seat covers, headliner, sun visors, dash cap, sill plates, door panels, door handles, window cranks, arm rests, package tray, seat belts, wheel well trim, 6 blade fan with clutch, thermostat, fuel pump, fuel filter, washer motor and jug kit, front and rear bumpers, new windshield and all new weather stripping. The rest of the bright work is very nice and shows well. Includes an AM/FM CD player that sounds amazing.

I also had some mechanical work done on it, including new valve gaskets and rear main seal, new lower quarter panels (both sides), and a gorgeous new paint job.

Under the hood is a solid and very clean Mopar 318, topped off with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. It also has a new chrome dress up kit. Driving is a dream with its smooth power steering. Odometer reads 30,357 (not actual of course).

This Mopar machine is launched by a 727 three speed automatic transmission and backed by a 8 3/4 rear end. Exhaust sounds strong and is running through original cast iron manifold, newer pipes and performance mufflers. The car also has a newer fuel tank and rear air shocks. This beauty is set off with American Torque Thrust with 15 inch BF Goodrich white lettered tires, and the drum brakes have been recently serviced and adjusted.

It once had a red bumble bee stripe on it (see last picture), but I had it removed because it wasn’t installed evenly. However, I do have a new red bumble bee stripe from Phoenix Graphics that I have not installed (it comes with the car too, if the buyer wants it).

The car runs and looks beautiful. The only thing that it needs is a fuel sending unit. The gas gauge doesn’t display correctly, but all other gauges work perfectly (notice the inspection sticker on the windshield. It’s road-ready and passes inspection easily). It’s solid and clean underneath, but the gas tank needs repainted and it has undercoating which is still in excellent condition.

I had a friend check the block and tranny numbers and I don’t think it’s numbers matching and the original color was blue. The numbers that we got off the block and tranny were hard to see from where they are located, but the tranny number appears to be 2538473-1 87, and there were two sets of numbers on different sides of the engine block, and they appear to be 6R208524 and 400675031814.

If asked I will gladly work with, and I encourage, independent inspections. I have nothing to hide, so inspections are welcome! Car is financed so title has to be released by bank upon payoff.
