Description of 1952 Dodge Truck Base

1952 Dodge B Series "Pilothouse" 1/2 Ton, Rear wheel drive.
The History:
I bought this at a car show recently and since then have decided take my projects in a different direction. The attraction about this truck its not your typical Chevy or Ford you see at the shows, making it unique. The previous owner had just finished restoring the truck and sold it to me. He claimed the truck had 500 miles since the rebuild but I have no way of telling other then the Clean appearance of the over all truck. No rust on the truck that I can see other then a few surface spots on bolt heads and bracing under the truck. Truck does have a 3 speed transmission on the floor rather then the original 3 on the tree (original 3 on the tree shifter comes with it). I was told the box came from a 1950's International truck but by my research it looks like a late 50's Dodge box with a metal rather this wood bed. The truck is titled as a 1952 Dodge Express but that doesn't seem to be correct according to the dodgepilothouseclub.com web site. The Pilothouse web site marks it as a 1953 Dodge B(Pickup not Express), manufactured in San Leandro CA, 108 Wheel base. In Nebraska the titling of this most would not be an issue but for the enthusiast this might need to be changed.
What's updated:
  • 12 Volt system
  • New paint job - Some blemishes but otherwise good paint job. Green metallic.
  • Newer brake cylinders - I replaces 1 and was told the other had been rebuilt or new.
  • Newer brake pads
  • New upholstery
  • New Glass - Comes with spare glass as well I was given with the purchase.
  • Radial tires - Newer but could use better ones
  • Rebuilt engine and trans - According to previous owner
  • Working MPH gauge & Odometer - Other gauges working but not sure if they are accurate. (I listed 42000 on the miles bc of the Odometer)
  • Newer king pins, no loose steering.
  • Operational lights and signals

This truck is super fun to drive and "head turner".

Correction on my previous statement. "My truck is priced to sell for less then other 1950 Dodge in comparable condition currently listed on ebay."

It was brought to my attention that my Truck may not be a "Pilothouse" truck because it does not have the 5 window. Upon further investigation I believe the 5 window was an option and that all of that B Series area trucks from 1948-1953 were called Pilothouse because of the cab, and also the windows but I can not find information to dispute this one way or another. The previous seller called this a "Pilothouse" and so have I but we are neither historians nor previous Dodge employees who assembled these vehicles back in the 1950's. I don't want to mislead anyone who is wanting a 5 window Dodge because the pictures area as true to form as this truck and clearly lacks the 5 windows noticeable in the pictures. Whether its a Dodge, Ford, Chevy Plymouth is this area the price reflects that and has nothing to do the 5 windows when I priced my truck.
This is my supporting information according to my document, as I want to be a transparent as possible because I know this is an investment and want people to be happy with the truck.

B-Series:
The B-series trucks were made from 1948 - 1953. They are also known as pilot-house trucks because of their distinctively new cab design. There are no "A-Series" trucks. Trucks built before 1948 are classified with model types such asTC, TD, WC and VCand as "job-rated" although the job-rated nomenclature continues to be used by Dodge even today. After 1953 the"C-Series"trucks were made from 1954 through 195, and continued on with the "Power-Giant" series til 1960 . The B-Series for trucks should not be confused with Dodge's B-series of cars that were made in the 70's.
You will find dodge truck brochures for many of these models in thePilot's Knowledgesection. Pictures of many of these trucks will be found in theDodge Gallery.
