Description of 1977 Dodge D200 Pickup Adventurer

Vehicle Details

This restoration I did by myself (Technically a restomod). I'm not a professional, just an a guy that does this for fun, and likes to take his time to try and get it done right.

What I have for auction is a 1977 D200 Crew Cab with a Dana 70 1 ton dually axle. 8 foot bed. I believe, but not 100% sure, this came from the factory as a top of the line "Adventurer". This truck is ginormous and I've dubbed it Godzilla. It's 22 feet in length. It has an acre of sheet metal, and all of the body panels are laser straight and all steel. Countless hours of body work went into this project. New floor pans were welded in. They don't make rear floor pans for these crew cabs anymore, so I had to fabricate my own. Paint used is a Nason epoxy primer and seal coat and topped with Imron Reduced Gloss Polyurethane. The result is a satin gloss black over a matte finish "Petty Blue". The frame and the top and bottom of the floor pans have been coated with POR-15. Where there is factory undercoating, I left that alone. This truck is rust free.

The really great and strong running engine is a 383 topped with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, and an Edelbrock Performer intake, backed by a 727 torquflite automatic, leading back to the indestructible Dana 70. Dual exhaust is expelled by headers, and the sound is bad-ass! I do have the original 440 engine, that would need a complete rebuild, if the next owner wants it. It had blown a head gasket. New Pirelli Scorpion off road tires and Weld Racing wheels at all 4 corners. My concept for this truck is for someone to use it for hunting/fishing/camping trips. I left the back seat out, in order to store more gear, but I have a rear bench seat, you could have, if you want to put it in.

All of the steering and suspension components are tight, and have no slop or looseness, but given their age, upgrades would be a consideration.

Doors: all new rubber components, includes weatherstripping, glass runs, belt weatherstripping(cat wiskers), all of it. Reconditioned or new window regulators for all door windows. All of these parts are new so they still need time for breaking in. Door panels are restored originals.

Interior: bench seat is period correct seat for 70's Dodge trucks. It's in like new, fantastic shape. I painted(dyed) it to match the interior colors. The back side of the seatback could be covered but not deemed necessary. New full length vinyl floor mat. Steering wheel, dash, and gauge cluster have all been restored. Gauges are factory electric gauges and work as well as 45 year old gauges can. I installed additional mechanical gauges to get a 'true' reading, so you get both. A voltmeter was installed in lieu of the ammeter(for safety). I have the original factory AM/FM radio but left it out in case the new owner wants to upgrade to something more modern, and more to their preference. No AC but I have all the parts if you want to get it working again.

Electrical: 90% of the wiring is brand new. I wanting to eliminate the bulkhead connectors as they are a source of all kinds of electrical problems. Everything electrical works including all switches.
