Description for Fiat 500 1969

1969 FIAT 500 F Cinquecento

On offer is this beautiful and functional runabout, an original Italian spec car, recently restored, which we imported this year to the USA.

Previous owner was an Italian collector passionate and meticulous about his collection, downsizing due to advancing age.

This car has received a recent restoration by vintage artisans in Italy.

It was also the beneficiary of a complete engine rebuild and mechanical freshening at that time.

It has been driven just over 60 miles since, and is thus fully sorted but essentially fresh and ready to enjoy for many years.

Odometer shows a total of only 61K miles since new.

Starts, runs, drives and handles like a new car.

Rust free, very solid body with zero issues.

The deep mediterranean blue paintwork is in excellent shape, and professionally polished to a high luster.

The chrome is remarkably good, and all details, badges and insignia are in place and period correct.

The interior is in very nice shape with recent new vinyl upholstery and new red rubber mats for a distinctively Italian touch.

The car is fitted with a new sunroof style vinyl top for open air enjoyment.

Basically stock, unmodified, unmolested, everything works, no known problems.

Brand new tires on freshly painted rims with tidy chrome hubcaps.

There is a new battery and the electrical system is in perfect order.

All she needs now is a new home!

Odometer - 98,200 km (61,000 miles) & just 100 km since rebuild (60 miles)

Launched as the Nuova (new) 500 in 1957 and following in the long tradition of mini compact Fiat city cars that began with the Toplino of the late 40’s the Nuova was an instant success. In production thru 1975 there were several detail upgrades and this 1969 500F model incorporates the most significant of those. Considered by many to be the ultimate “City Car”, the Nuova 500 was very popular all across Europe. None of the subsequent models ever possessed the charm and fun-to-drive feeling of this series.

The shapely body sits on a 72.4” wheelbase and is a trim 117” long, ideal for parking in the city.

With a svelte curb weight of only 1,100 lbs and powered by a robust twin cylinder 500cc engine, performance is lively around town and adequate for country lanes.

Fuel economy is outstanding.

A 4-speed manual transmission provides a wide range of gearing for climbing steep urban hills to an open road top speed around 60 mph.

The ride is notably supple and the handling crisp and accurate.

The 500 F is quite simple mechanically and considered to be reliable and durable, and easy to maintain.

Parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive.

Very cute, lots of fun, quite rare in the USA and in excellent, restored condition - this 1969 500F Cinquecento is a very collectable and enjoyable classic.

Also getting very popular in the US with Italian car enthusiasts ... Please check recent auction prices of similar cars to get an idea of the real value here.

Specializing in Classic Italian Cars as Only the Passionate Can

We don't sell cars. We sell history, nostalgia and style. We sell the classic Italian cars of yesteryear to an audience as passionate and enthusiastic as we are. If you love the Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Lancias of old as much as we do, take a look at the beauties we offer. . .or let us know if you're in search of a particular car. We're always looking--we just might find it!

We tap into our extensive network to scour Italy, hunting through old barns and garages, to find these vintage Italian cars. Once we find a treasure, it's shipped to our warehouse location in Northern Italy where a specialist with 40 years' experience meticulously reviews the car and reconditions anything that is not as it should be. This precious cargo is then shipped to the U.S. in small numbers, to our San Francisco location.

This is not strictly business for us -- we have daytime jobs. This is love. We are not your typical car dealers. We are the real deal, men with such enthusiasm for these classic Italian cars that we're going to great lengths to find and preserve them. Why? Because these cars are as familiar to us as our childhoods. Our passion for these cars knows no bounds. We seek them out. We hunt them down. We lovingly recondition them.
