Description for Ford Other Pickups 1947

1947 Mercury One Ton Pickup Truck, veryrare truck inneed of full restoration. Flathead V8 will not turn by hand so presume seized. This truck has been sitting for quite a whileoutside. We can help to arrange to ship anywhere for the buyer. Selling with No Reserve to the highest bidder.
The body isn't the worse I've seen. There are dents and a hole has been cut in the tailgate. It has theusual rust in the cab corners butother than that it isfairly solid and straight, especially when considering its age. The floorboards are rusted. The interior iscomplete andoriginaland the Mercury specific dash emblem and steering wheel center are in good shape. All of the Mercury specific emblemsare present. Most of the glass is broken. The original wooden bed floor is surprisingly complete.
This is a very rare truck. It does require full restoration but once restored these Mercury's tend to command at least a 50% higher price than the equivalent, much more common Ford's. So if you are highly skilled and have the time thiscould be a good opportunity to grab a rare and valuable truck cheap and restore it into something quite valuable and unique.
Due to the much smaller Canadian market, Ford of Canada only sold approximately one tenth as many trucks as Ford did in the US during 1947 and around two thirds of those were Ford's leaving the remaining third to be Mercury's. So only 3,809 Mercury trucks were produced in 1947 from Half Ton to Three Ton and due to Canada's harsh climate only a handful remain today.

who we are and what we do

We are two brothersthat seek out original trucks and cars fromall acrossCanada specializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

We started heading North to source these vehicles several years ago due to the severe lack of such vehicles in the US in recent times due to our huge car culture. Most American barn finds have long been found and tampered with by several owners yet North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good solid original vehicles waiting to be brought back to life.

We make these great vehicles available to the US market by importing them into the US and providing all required paperwork to acquire a Clear US Title in your own name in your home State.

We also specialize insourcing Mercuryand Fargo trucks and have successfully imported and found new homes for dozens of fine original examples.

We are passionate about finding the best thatthere is and understand that our customers want to see automobiles that have not been tampered with; the more original, the better.

Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specific that you are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help.

The business we conduct is straightforward and honest. Whether you're looking for something that'sall original, a starting point for a restoration project orsolid bones for a custom build, Bison Brothers will deliver.
