Description of 1947 Ford Other Pickups |

1947 Mercury One Ton Pickup Truck. All original and solid barn find truck. These early 46/47 Mercury trucks are extremely scarce, this is the first one we've found in over a year. A very good candidate for a full restoration. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder.Contact must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending or it will be assumed that you have no intention of honoring your bid and the truck will be offered to others. Zero Feedback bidders must make contact prior to bidding. It has a very solid body for an un-restored truck of this era. The floorboards are in excellent condition. The fenders are completely rust free as are the running boards. The only rust issues that I have found are the front edge of the roof above the windshield which looks as though it could be easily repaired as it is internal not external. Also the passengers cab corner has minor rust through as seems to be the case on all of these 46/47 Ford/Mercury trucks and as usual the drivers side cab corner is good. It has very nice patina and all original paint. There is no bondo in this truck, it is exactly as Ford built it. Most impressive is the lack of dents, I don't believe this truck did much work or it was very well taken care of as the only dent is in the rear corner of the passengers side rear fender. It only has 48,000 original miles on it. The Mercury tailgate does not have a hole cut for a grain shoot which is very unusual on a One Ton pickup of this era. It was removed early in its life and stored so also has no rust. These tailgates are incredibly rare and seldom found in this condition. A hydraulic PTO driven hoist has been fitted to the bed as with many One Ton pickups of this era. This is why the bed sits high but it could easily be removed and the bed could be remounted at the factory height making it far more aesthetically appealing in my opinion. All Mercury specific emblems are present and in good shape as is the Mercury specific grille. Very importantly all four of the very rare Mercury hubcaps are present. Overall this is a very good all original and solidexample of a One Ton 47 Mercury pickup. Since photographing the truck I have located an original passengers side outer door handle which will come with the truck. The interior is complete with the Mercury script on the dashboard and ingood condition for its age. The seat is very usable. Mechanically this truck is complete with its original Flathead V8. It hasn't ran in many years but nothing is missing. All tires hold air. It rolls and steers freely. This will make a great project and is a far nicer starting point than many of the barn finds that we sell due to being 100% original and complete with very minimal rust issues. Seldom do we find un-restored Mercury trucks from 46/47 as of recent in such solid and complete shape. Bid with confidence and feel free to message with any questions. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. Due to the much smaller Canadian market, Ford of Canada only sold approximately one tenth as many trucks as Ford did in the US and around two thirds of those were Ford's leaving the remaining third to be Mercury's. So very few of these trucks were produced and it is becoming much harder for us to source nice original and complete examples such as this. Due to Canada's harsh climate only a handful remain today. If you would like a shipping quote please message us. We can assist in arranging shipping for you as we have several reliable contacts that we have used before many times to ship our vehicles all over the country and they are all very familiar with loading and hauling this type of vehicle. Due to currently being away at SEMA in Las Vegas we will not be around for collection until November 9th. Check out our latest sales feedback :
