Description of 1950 Ford Other Pickups |

1950 Ford F68 (F3) Pickup Truck. The 48-50 Ford F3's were designated as an F68 on Canadian market trucks due to the 6,800 lb gross vehicle weight. This truck was sold new in Saskatchewan, Canada so is badged and Titled as an F68. All original and fairly solid barn find truck. Original Flathead V8 turns freely. A very good candidate for a full restoration. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. Contact must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending or it will be assumed that you have no intention of honoring your bid and the truck will be offered to others. Zero Feedback bidders must make contact prior to bidding. It has a good solid body which is all original with no past repairs. All of the paint is original, this truck has absolutely no bondo. The floorboards are exceptionally good. The cab corners are very solid and have no rust through. The front fenders where these trucks are prone to corrosion are remarkably solid yet not perfect with only minor rust bubbles where the upper and lower fenders meet and the usual rust through where the fenders join the running boards. The bed sides have the usual rust ahead of the rear fenders but this is minor and flat steel so easily repaired. The running boards have rust through, especially the passengers side. The rear fenders are rusted where they meet the bed sides as is often the case on this era Ford truck. The last of the rust that I have found after a thorough inspection is above the rear window which also seems like a common spot on these Ford's as I have seen many suffer in the same area. Overall though this is a solid all original truck with excellent floorboards and cab corners. All of the trivial rust mentioned is easily repaired by the right hands. A huge bonus to this truck is that it hasn't been hacked up and fitted with a dump bed, this isn't often the case with 3/4 ton and larger prairie farm trucks of this era. The tailgate is unfortunately missing but these are easily sourced. We are more than happy to assist in sourcing the winning bidder a tailgate at additional cost. Overall this is a very good solid and all original example of a first generation Ford F Series pickup truck and a prime candidate for restoration. The interior is complete and ingood condition for its age with a nice dashboard. The center dash plastics are very brittle and cracked due to being 69 years old but reproductions are readily available at very little cost. As with all un-restored barn find trucks of this era the seat will need re-upholstering and the gauge cluster will need refurbishing. Mechanically this truck is a very good place to start being complete and having the highly sort after Flathead V8 which turns freely. It rolls and steers freely and all tires hold air. This will make a great project being that it is pretty much untouched since Henry Ford built it. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. If you would like a shipping quote please message us.
