NO RESERVE AUCTION

We bought this Ranchero in 1997 - over 20 years ago. During 1997 - 1998 the vehicle was redone and later updated. Engine was rebuilt, C-4 transmission was overhauled with RV/heavy duty shift kit, all power steering parts replaced, all brake parts with the exception of a couple of hard lines were replaced, new exhaust, new interior (redone in bright red a couple of years ago), suspension and steering parts replaced, new tires (later replaced the tires with new ones and red steel wheels), electrical parts replaced, $400 lifetime warranty gas tank, weather stripping, new exhaust, new quarters installed, etc. A fiberglass tonneau cover was purchased and installed - rare to find one today. The lid is waterproof and we used the vehicle to go on trips and haul my wife's artwork to shows. This Ranchero has never broken down and has been on trips out of state. In January I drove it to North Carolina on a trip. It fires right up, runs, drives, stops and rides like a 1969 vehicle. Everything works with the exception of the gas gauge - it didn't work when I got the truck, I worked on it and it used to go to 3/4 when full. Now it goes to just past a 1/4 when full. When it hits E I fill it. The body is hot rod flat black and it has lots of blemishes and flaws (please note FLAWS - it is a driver). I never replaced the windshield. It is not original and has 3 or 4 chips in it. It never bothered me so I didn't replace it. I did install tinted side glass out of another Ranchero I had for parts. In fact I had 2 Ranchero parts vehicles and the trim on this one is the best of all 3 vehicles. Tires are radials on 6-inch wide Ford steel wheels painted red with dog dish hubcaps. Car has duals with MagnaFlow mufflers. Engine is the original 302 bored 30 over, crank was turned 10/10. Engine has an Edelbrock Performer cam and kit including springs, roller timing set, Offenhauser intake with 600 Holley four barrel with electric choke. Headers are coated Hedman shorties. Radiator was replaced years ago along with new water pump, thermostat, hoses, belts, heater core etc. Interior was redone about 2 years ago in bright red vinyl. It has two bucket seats, a really nice dash pad I got from a guy who stored it for many years. The stereo is Radio Shack AM/FM/Cassette with two Radio Shack speakers behind the seats in the storage area. Carpet and door panels, armrests are new. The trunk/bed area has a wooden frame I built to hold the spare so it doesn't roll around. I can leave it in or remove for new owner. Vehicle can be driven anywhere. I need to sell this vehicle and my 68 Torino (in another auction) to get garage space.
This is a no reserve auction. I want to sell so buyers only please! Call me with any questions, offers or if you want to see the Ranchero and go for a ride at 804-five nine zero-0718.

Hot Rod Black with red steel wheels, dog dish hubcaps. All chrome was redone when it was built. Bumpers still look like new.

Hard fiberglass cover has a lock and two springs to hold it up.

Tires have plenty of tread - you can hop in, turn key and go.

Driver door requires more effort to shut than passenger door. The hinge pins were replaced years ago. Ranchero script on fenders and bull on B pillar are reproductions.

Steel wheels are original Ford and 6-inches wide.

Grill is painted black. It has some aging/pitting as you would expect. Headlights are halogen replacements.

Exhaust shop didn't do the best job on exhaust but it sounds nice.

Red metalflake Moon steering wheel and shift knob on B&M shifter.

It's red. I am not sure what the buckets came out of - I bought them from a friend who has sold old Ford parts for many years. He said it was from a Ford vehicle.

Dash pad is nice - I bought it from another seller of old Ford parts who had stored it for many years inside his garage.

When interior was updated I replaced the boot on the shifter as it had become torn over the years. I still have the original B&M t-handle shifter if new owner wants it - be sure the tell me.

Comfy seats - seat and shoulder belt combo is aftermarket.

Sun tach and Sun oil pressure, water temp gauges work and are lighted when you turn on headlights. Oil and water are mechanical gauges.

Radio Shack stereo works fine. Cigar lighter works - nonsmoker car.

Glove box - owner's manual inside is pictured below.

Behind the seat storage area - I will remove my stuff and leave a bottle jack and 4-way wrench - spare is in the bed. Speakers are in the storage area.

Headliner is black

The engine is the rebuilt version of the original 302 V-8

Engine was bored 30 over, crank turned 10/10, all new internal parts, Edelbrock Performer cam kit 270/280 duration and 0.448/0.470 lift, double roller timing chain

Engine has Hedman coated shorty headers going into MagnaFlow mufflers

Power steering parts were all replaced when Ranchero was built in late 90s

Reman distributor has Pertronix electronic ignition and coil

Offenhauser aluminum intake, M/T valve covers were painted silver blue hi-temp paint, chrome air cleaner

Underside of hood

Fiberglass tonneau cover has two springs to hold it up. I built a wooden frame with floor and carpet to keep everything in place.

Without the wood frame the spare would move around

Trim plate - when new it was blue with blue bench seat

VIN on dash 9A48F258524

Title I got when I bought the truck in 1997. Note the VIN is an old title number - I got it changed years later when I noticed it was incorrect.

DMV corrected the VIN and gave me a new title - the one the new owner will get - with correct VIN 9A48F258524

Owner's manual in glove box

I will include another tail light bezel to replace the one with a crack. It will need to be chromed. You can see the original 8-inch rear with 3.00 to 1 ratio (nothing wrong with it), includes the original tag and the original speedometer driven gear. The gray speedo gear is sitting on top and the tag is attached with wire. When I changed to the 3:40 traction lock rear I replaced the speedometer gear with one to make the speedo correct. They will be included in the sale if buyer wants them.

Bumpers were chromed in 1998 and still look good

Hood

Driver front fender

The windshield has 3 or 4 chips in it and it was like that when I bought the vehicle. Wiper arms are stainless steel. Wiper motor was replaced years ago and works - 2 speeds.

Driver side door

Back glass - decals can be removed with a razor. Note bad place on lid. It has a couple - one in another photo.

Both quarters were replaced in 1998.

Hubcaps have some dings. All four tires are the same size: Kumho P215X70X14

Gas cap is from a later model Ranchero but fits. Gas tank was redone and has a lifetime warranty.

Bed cover - I've had a couple of people ask me to sell it off the truck. It has a lock and two keys.

Cover has this damage from shipping. I just painted it and never tried to fix it. It is only on the top and not through. Cover is water proof - nothing in the bed gets wet in rain or when you wash truck.

Tailgate opens and closes correctly

Driver side taillight and trim

Years ago I backed into something - small ding in rear bumper and crack on side of taillight bezel about 3/4 down. I will include another bezel but no one seems to notice the crack or bumper ding.

Passenger side quarter

Red steelies

Trim on side of cab and passenger door

Side glass is original from another Ranchero that had AC and has some tint. Both doors will lock and unlock with the key. I have two sets of keys for the truck and the cover.

Antenna is aftermarket

Passenger side front fender - keep in mind the body and paint have flaws and blemishes - many do not show up in photos. This Ranchero could be taken to another level by a good body and paint person.
