The engine is standard bore. Famous engine builder Tony Fiel came out of retirement to do the build. He spent several months working on every inch of the block and heads. It is a center oiler or top oiler, The engine was treated to the best machine work possible. The engine runs smooth despite it's power and aggressive solid lifter cam. If you place your hand on the shifter while the engine is running it is absolutely smooth and vibration free. Starts hot or cold first time doesn't stall or stumble or hesitate, quiet as if it had hydraulic lifters in it. I attribute that to the improved oiling system we did. We obtained a melling HV oil pump but it was iron. But Tony said he did not like the idea of a heavy iron pump hanging over the engine. So he took the original aluminum pump and replaced the internals with the Melling stuff after machining it all. When I pre-oiled the motor the oil just poured over the rockers and on the floor in seconds. We had to restrict as others do the oil to the head. Also addressed the problem of top oilers not lubricating the lifters. Tony drilled the oil passages in the head to accept 3/8 allen plugs then drilled the plugs to thread in holley carb air bleeds. We settled on 40 thousandths. Check the pics there is one of the oil passage. This gave us good oil flow over the valve spring valve area of the rocker arm but also good oil flow over the pushrod side of the rocker. We switched pushrods from 5/16 solid to 3/8 hollow push rods.Carbs were redone to perfection, spark plugs 2 grades hotter look perfect mostly white to a tan color. Orig dual point set to 18 initial all in by 2000 total 34. Added 00 battery cables and push button battery disconnect under the dash to the solenoid under the battery.

He either used the sheet metal or the whole body to restore the car.
