Description of 1966 Ford Galaxie 7-Litre 2 Door Convertible

Cool Classic Rides, Dealer #DA8690 is excited to offer another classic with this absolutely beautiful 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 litre Convertible. Anybody who knows the history of the 7 litre, knows what a rare car this is. Ford made only 2,368 of these very rare convertibles. Today less than 50 are known to still be around. This was fords answer to the mid sized muscle car craze, of the mid 60s. The 428 V8 big block was stuffed tightly into the engine bay of this family 2 door sedan, and put out a very respectable 345 HP at 4500 RPM. These cars in 1966 were badged on the front fender, grill and glove box, as a 7 LItre. This was the mid 1960s, when it was all about the muscle and power of the big 3 auto makers, and Ford nailed it with its 7 litre. These are some of the absolute rarest fords ever built, and especially in a convertible. This beautiful car was purchased in 100% original condition, with roughly 64,000 original miles on it. This muscle car icon, had spent its entire life in California, from day one. We still have the original black and gold license plates that came on it. This beauty had very sun baked original paint, all original interior in near perfect condition including factory 7 Litre bucket seats, and a center console, for its ever cool T shift automatic, and all of its original wiring, wheels, brakes and Hub Caps. Not one single piece of trim inside or out, and not one badge was missing. We purchased this car with zero rust. This is a 100% number matching car. The engine was checked out and refreshed, and runs and drives perfectly. The original interior was taken out, reconditioned and put back in, like the day it was new. We put in new factory correct carpet, and new factory correct top, all new top motor, and pistons. The kelsey- hayes brakes were completely gone thru and rebuilt, back to original, right down to the hoses and 4 piston calipers. We Gave this beautiful machin, new white stripe tires, had the undercarriage completely painted, and had every gauge, and light gone thru and made to work perfectly. We sent our rag top beast, out to have new base coat, clear coat, factory correct paint re applied, and new 7 litre pin striping reapplied. We have gone thru every part of this beautiful machine, in a 9 month restoration process. No this is not a rotisserie restoration, nor is it a frame off restoration, for the simple fact that this car was near perfect, the day we got it. We have pictures going back to the day we found it, to show its over all condition. This was truly one of the nicest preserved car we have ever had. We did not repaint the door jambs, under the hood, or under the trunk lid, simply to show its origina, and amazing condition. The interior of the trunk looks like new, still having its original cardboard wheel well blockers. Like all of our cars, this is not a high end frame off Show car. This is a very nicely don, very low original mileage, and very rare daily driver, that is ready to take proudly to any cruise inn or local show. Believe me you will have the only 7 Lire there. The paint has 4 coats of clear, and is ready for her new owner to spend a weekend wet sanding and buffing, to bring out its amazing metallic sparkle to it s fullest. Cool Classic Ride, is very proud of this beautiful car, and we believe we have priced it very reasonable at $47,000.00There is not a single thing on this amazing family muscle car, that does not work properly, as far as we have seen. It goes down the road with a great ease, and a style that is unsurpassed. This is a highly collectable car, in a very fast growing collector market. This car will never go down in valu, but will continue to go up and up. Dont wait, you wont get another chance to own a piece of automotive history, that looks this nice, for this price. They just don't come along very often.
