Description of 1948 International Harvester KB5 Chrome

The years I have had my truck,,,,,,Was going to cut up to build a Rat Rod but did'nt have the heart to cut so I brought it back to life as it was intended. But time to move on to other ideas. This is a 1948 IHC dump truck. Beautiful truck with allot of time money invested. I purchased with paint job completed and is a nice paint job but with a wet sand and clear coat it would be amazing. Truck has all options for the year of production,,, Passenger Wiper, Vacuum assist brakes, 2 speed rear end.
Truck runs well and drives well. Brakes rebuilt, Vacuum assist rebuilt with federal tag. Tires about 1 year old, New tubes, Liners and widow makers were painted with 300V Epoxy. Interior is very nice with new seats and working cluster. Battery is a Optima 6V with a welded SST box. Engine was rebuilt and is the green diamond flat head 6cyl. Carb is also rebuilt
Items left to complete would be 1 more wire for rear brakes and brake lights, Dump ram needs re sealed then drive and tune as you wish.
Very little bits to do but truck is derivable as is, I really enjoy the truck but a new project is breathing down my neck and peaking my interest and I need the space..
For your interest,,, I am including in the buy it now price a fresh motor from a about 1969 in case you want to go RAT ROD. Engine is a 454 Chev bored 30 Over, roller motor, Pete Jackson gear drive, Decked heads, hi torque starter. If I recall the valves were stepped as well. Motor has bout 500 miles on rebuild.
Trans is a used 4 speed with super low 1st so more like 3 speed. This package would be an amazing rat rod for a very different ride. Trans came out of wrecked crew truck, Trans is somewhat rare in it has Right and Left power take off for PTO drives....Was planned for this truck. motor and trans were from separate vehicles so the motor was set up for Auto, Trans is standard,,Would need clutch. pressure plate assembly...
Truck has new WA state title with vintage tags and copies of previous title,
If you own BAR, Museum, collection,,, Hardware store it would make a great deco piece, Put a flat bed in it for parades or drive it around your small town for fun work,,,,,
Really is a great rare truck, haven't seen a cleaner KB5 this original.
