Description of 1978 International Harvester Scout Super Scout ii

Up for your consideration is a REAL 1978 Scout SSii. The beast has 53,333 original miles and matching factory 345 engine and 4bbl carb. Trans is a special ordered 3spd. with factory 3:73 gear. This truck has original documents to include dealership invoices, purchase agreements, build sheet, misc receipts, all 5 original rims, etc... The dash is perfect and still has the factory heat vent covers intact, original radio looks great as well.....
Originally a white truck, the past owner painted it but kept the original factory SSii decals on the body. You don't see many for sale as most are in private collections or have been destroyed.

Clearly the original seats are not there and the truck has the very typical scout rust opportunities as most do.

Runs great, shifts great and a blast to drive! Overall a mechanically sound collector piece that needs cosmetics. You know what these are going for restored and can see the prices still going up. Don't miss out on this hard to find piece. A restored example currently listed here for $79,000.00...https://hymanltd.com/vehicles/6051-1978-international-scout-ii-convertible/
All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Scout is available for inspection..
The SS II (Super Scout II) was built for sheer off-road enjoyment. Standard steel doors were eschewed in favor of Bronco Roadster-inspired fiberglass inserts and removable, soft-sided doors like a Jeep CJ. The fiberglass top was replaced by a simple, removable soft vinyl canopy on a light frame, and a roll bar was mounted behind the front seats. Outside, distinct ABS plastic inserts are fitted to the grille and tailgate along with a graphics applique package and white painted “wagon wheel” rims, with raised white letter off-road tires. Tough and basic, the Scout SS II proved very popular with off-road racing enthusiasts and was the truck of choice for a number of champion National Off-Road Racing Association competitors.
