1963 Jeep Gladiator Willys Pickup Truck 1st Year 4X4
Here is a great old Willy's Gladiator pickup. Reffered to as the "Townside". This would make an excellent restoration, rat rod, or rock climbing project. This Jeep does not have an engine, transmission or transfer case. It comes with the differentials only, which I believe are the original Dana 44's.
This is the first year they produced the Gladiator, and I believe it is one of the very first ones to roll off the line. Please see it still has the Willys tag. From what I have read on these, I think it was built in 62 and titled as a 63. This is a 56 year old pickup and will need body and mechanical work. This truck has not been licensed since 1987.
It does have a complete dash, minus the speedometer crystal, as pictured. They are available on e-Bay aftermarket. No interior door panels but nice arm rests and handles. Please see that at one time it had a hoist molded into the rear right bed side. The rust isn't very bad at all on this pickup, as pictured. That's not to say there is no rust, as shown.
Cab corners, rockers and fender flares are nice as pictured. As is the bottom of the sheet metal. It does have numerous dents and dings that may or may not show up in the photos.
The front inner fenders are rusty, as pictured, however I believe that they are the same from 63-84. Which would make replacements very easy to find. There is some rust in the front floors, and rear bed also.
It has a nice set of period correct custom chrome wheels on it as pictured. The tire tread is nice, but they do have a little dry rot.
The frame on this truck is in very nice condition and it doesn't look like it has ever been damaged. I took some diamond measurements and they were right on.
