Description of 1956 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

This beauty has been in the family since 1992. Always garaged, and driven sparingly. Purchased in Calif. and came to Tucson to be gone thru mechanically. Engine complete disassembled, and new bearings, piston rings, valves, etc. Engine has great compression, and runs strong. Trans. was checked and needed no service, clutch replaced. Brakes redone at that time, using silicone fluid. Vehicle has had little use since, and was stored in a garage. Brakes need adjustment, pulls to left, when applied.Body is in excellent condition, with aquality paint job done in 1996, includingre chromeon bumpers, The grill area was replaced at one time with a clip, but the fenders are original, never damaged. I have photos of this area if you care to view them, let me know, and I will send them to you. There is some damage to right front bumper bar, needing redo. There a two small rusttroughsabove exhaust pipe, right side, and foot well area, left side, but minor. Slight imperfection in paint around left headlight area, and an imperfection in hood surface, middle.Upholstery was done at this time using quality vinyl, covering dash, door panels, seats, etc. Top was replaced with Haartz cloth, and carpets with German square weave.. The right door panel is removed to replace window with an original one, in progress, I have window. Also horn button included, see photo.Vehicle still has original wiring, works well. Gauges original, never rebuilt, but do work. This is a driver quality car that presents well, not a trailer queen, but with prices going up nicel, a great investment. Check Hagerty price guide, to see values. Avg. value now is over 100K. Reserve is reasonable. Ask questions. Reserve is private, don't ask.
