Description of 1977 Mercedes-Benz 416-Doka

Mercedes-Benz Other . Fantastic base project for your Pandemic Zombie Apocalypse Bug-Out Earth Roamer Covid-cruiser!Would be a great base for an RV, very mobile office, teeny tiny home? Reportedly a former riot police vehicle from West Germany! Former owner purchased it from a township there, brought it to the US and drove it for a while, then brought it to a restoration outfitter in OR and spent $40,000 in restoration and upgrades! (I have a draft of some of the included items totaling 40k from the restorer). Highlights of restoration aside from all new interior and paint include the coveted “fast axles” ring and pinion kit. Other things listed : clutch cylinder, disc brakes, good used shocks, tapered roller bearings x8 ? Thermostat, wipers, rear lights (still in boxes), stabilizers, full differential kits, 4 new Continental tires, and a whole slew of seals, gaskets, hoses, and other stuff you’d probably expect in a $40,000 Restoration Bill. It has the coveted auxiliary Diesel burning cabin heater under the rear seat bench. This truck has not been fully completed and has not been started since restoration work a Decade ago !!Things I know it needs include: water system flush and a couple hoses added (new hoses included), fuel system obviously needs to be gone through and the water separator unit rebuilt and installed. Alternator wiring, batteries, pto side gear box installed, fresh fluids? I see hydraulic leak near front outputs.......probably a lot of other stuff....(I am a junior back-yard mechanic.....but after talking with the restoration shop that did the work I was convinced it is in good shape and close to being completed... Cracked/broken windshield with possibly incomplete seal. I do not know a heck of a lot more than this! There are lots of unknowns! ( I got it a bit over my head, then almost immediately got sick and life changed pretty significantly.....). I am somewhat motivated to get it to the new owner, as I have moved on to other projects.Prior owner had just shy of $70k into this rig when I bought it from him..... my asking price is negotiable, if necessary, but I will ignore silly low offers and similar discussions..... it is what it is. I’m happy to tell you all I can about it, and am flexible about when it leaves here, but I’m not giving it away or going to loose my shirt on it (because my shirt is for sale too)....... Payment will be Completed and Confirmed prior to the vehicle or clean title leaving my possession. No exceptions. You are responsible for ALL costs and logistics associated with transport, I am able to be available widely, with notice, and will assist in any way I can, but I do not have the equipment to load or transport. This is one hell of a truck! And one hell of a project with mysteries and unknowns.Comes complete with expanded metal cage that can cover rear windows to keep the Molotov Cocktails out. Smoker vents in the roof, auxiliary lights as photographed, Oil bong air filter, and one spare rim/used tire. All new upholstery and I think cushions inside, though “new” means unused, over a decade old and a little dusty, including upholstered headliner.Seeking 4x4 AWD van such as Sprinter or other that could be part of negotiations, I have offered it to a few Mercedes dealers seeking that 4x4 sprinter. I’ve tried three times to format this with spaces and paragraphs and eBay keep editing?
