THE BEST 4-DOOR SEDAN IN THE WORLD? The 1986 Mercedes 300E is an iconic luxury-performance sedan. Road & Track magazine approvingly stated: “…new, fast, comfortable, and maybe even the best 4-door sedan in the world”. Famed Mercedes engineering, craftsmanship, fit, and finish are evident everywhere you look. And, it is impossible to travel anywhere without getting an admiring glance, thumbs-up, or compliment.

SOUTHERN CAR: One of the best things about this car, is that is documented as a “Southern Car” since new! The South is well-known for having classics with highly desirable solid bodies and undercarriages.

ODOMETER NOTE: The mileage noted on the odometer as of the photo-session (40,640) may change slightly as the car is gently “exercised” from time to time. Today – as of the date of this listing – the mileage is 40,759…so the new owner should anticipate a small increase in the odometer reading.

IMPORTANT IMAGE NOTES: There are over 100 images, because we want to show you EVERY aspect of this fine classic that we can think of. THE FIRST 12 PICTURESwill give you a general overview of this stunning Mercedes 300E. But if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING. Simply "scroll down" to see the pictures. The images are arranged in sections for Exterior, Interior, Wheels & Undercarriage, etc.

LOCATION:Roswell, GA...whichis approx. 33 miles north of Atlanta.

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT –Luxury-performance sedans are among the most enjoyable and collectible of all modern classics. Plus, this could be the lowest mileage example that you will ever find. Finally, no one is more “connected” to a car than the original owner…who paid full-price for the car with hard-earned money and cared for it accordingly for over three decades! All of this adds value and enhances the outlook for maximum future value.

Over 3,000 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE!As of the date of this listing, we've had over 3,000 transactions (both BuyingandSelling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to showlargerandmoreimages than almost any other eBay listing...so you canclearlysee what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings.

OPERATIONAL REPORT:This Mercedes excellent build quality and engineering are as evident today as when new. Everything has a precision-feel to it, with “bank vault” body feel. It drives beautifully and actually benefits from weekly “exercise”. Like many sophisticated cars, “sitting” can affect drivability somewhat, and the new owner should not be surprised by this. We recently had the car serviced after sitting, and the shop’s advice was to be sure to drive the car regularly.

IMPORTANT NOTES: the radio is not working, nor is the antenna switch. The Air Conditioner ran “cool” but not “cold”…it could need charging or other attention for maximum performance. The owner was a smoker. He did so very carefully in the car, so I did not see any burns or telltale signs. A rather heavy-duty de-odorizing pack was placed in the car (shown at right) to absorb smoking odor. It was effective (now discarded) but the new owner may still detect smoking activity. Ozium, or other odor absorbing products may reduce/remove the residual scent. The digital indicator of outside temperature is inaccurate, it was an 85 degree day during the photo-shoo, but 119 degrees was incorrectly indicated. Finally, the key and/or ignition cylinder are a bit worn after 34 years of use, so just be advised that it can take a bit of "wiggling" to get the key to turn in the ignition to start the car.

IMPERFECTIONS: As a concours judge at International-level Car Shows, I have never seen the “perfect car”…there is no such thing. This car is a beauty that you can be proud to drive and show, but please expect imperfections “here and there”. Some imperfections will be self-evident via the 100+ images shown. But we have also shown some specific examples at right in the final image set.

PAYMENT TERMS: A $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal is due immediately upon the listing’s end to hold the car for 3 business days, by which time full payment via Bank to Bank Wire Transfer must be made.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERSare welcome, but MUST adhere to the SAME Payment Terms detailed above and also make all arrangements for the pick-up and importation of the Vehicle into the Buyer's country.
ABOUT ME:I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector and for friends and clients. This classic belonged to a friend who recently passed, and is being sold by the executor of the estate.
Please Note:as of this date, we have had over 3,000 eBay transactions with 100% Positive Feedback...this includes the sale of many Classic Cars to Buyers all over the world, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Australia, Russia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.
IMPORTANT DOCUMENT & CONDITION OF SALE REMARKS:

NOTE: This car belonged to a car-enthusiast friend of mine who recently passed. It is being sold by the executor of his estate. The Buyer will receive the following documents: Copy of the Owner’s Death Certificate, Copy of the “Letters Testamentary” naming the executor of the estate, the owner’s original Title – signed-off by the Executor of the Estate, and a Bill of Sale – with the Executor’s notarized signature. In the state of Georgia, these are the documents required for the sale of a decedent’s vehicle…please be sure that these documents will satisfy your state’s requirements for Registration and Titling to the new owner.

INSURANCE: the new owner is fully responsible for insurance on the car from the moment payment is made…please be sure that insurance coverage is in force when you make payment.

This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied. Even the very best restored classics will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. Therefore, please expect to continue - as the new owner and caretaker of this classic - to perform additional maintenance and repairs. We hope that you are able to enjoy the Mercedes without the need for an immediate repair - but understand that this indeed could be found necessary. As seasoned collectors know, every time you start (or attempt to start) a classic vehicle is a new experience...it could be a wonderful ride, or a new repair to undertake. That is the nature of the hobby, and this classic should not be purchased if you are not prepared for this reality. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability – noting any flaws that we found - but oversights are possible. Therefore -beforethe auction's end – qualified bidders (i.e. highest bidder meeting reserve – if any) are welcome to examine the vehicle in person. All sales are final.

Because this car is only lightly driven locally - and is untested for long trips - we recommend that it be transported to its new locale.

We remind you to be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions for this classic on the rightbecause - in addition to this description - they relate important information too!
