Description of 1964 Mercury Comet CYCLONE

About this vehicleThis 1964 Mercury Comet is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle needs work and is not regularly driven.Seller's NotesThe vehicle is sold As Is - Where is. There is no Warranty of any type. Shipping is the full responsibility of the Buyer. Inspections prior to purchase are welcomed. Call 707-867-2770 with questions. ExteriorThis 1964 Comet Cyclone was parked under an oak tree in the California foothills. Over the years, the Comet was covered with leaves and accumulated some moisture. The paint is original and has many flaws and scratches...definitely lots of patina! There is body damage to the LH door and LH fender near the door edge. There is also damage to right side of the deck lid. The front and rear bumpers show signs of “bumps”. Because of water accumulation, there is some rust in lower rear quarter panels, floor pans, edge of decklid, trunk lid, and weatherstrip lip molding area for the rear decklid. The frame rails and the underbody of the Comet appears to be solid. The exterior trim pieces (chrome and aluminum) are in decent condition, and the one-year only wheel-well trim and rocker panels are present and in good condition. Please see (post link in your browser) video for more information. https://youtu.be/UxhmG4O4m1MInteriorThe interior is mostly all complete. The headliner is the type with chrome strips...it’s all there, but needs restoration as does the rest of the interior. the bucket seat tracks are in good condition-not rusted out. The factory tachometer is missing. EngineThe 289 engine appears to be original. The gas tank was bypassed due to rust and the engine runs off a gas can. The Comet will start, move forward and reverse and it will stop (barely). The Comet is NOT road worthy and should not be driven in its present condition.
