Description of 1949 Nash Ambassador Brougham 2 door

It doesn't get any better. You won't find a finer 1949 Nash Ambassador than this stunning Super 2 Door Brougham.

Everyone admires the deep gloss of the near flawless exterior finish in correct factory Sunset Maroon. The rare theater type Brougham individual rear seating lets you sit in comfort and style. Luxurious built in armrests and original menswear grey and maroon stripe fabric are unusual and very elegant. The front airflyte reclining twin bed travel seats are both comfortable and crowd pleasing at any car event or show.

This Ambassador is exceptionally rare. It was ordered by the dealer (likely for the owner of the dealership) with every extra option available at the time, fully loaded at the factory. It includes rear windshield wiper, electric dashboard operated locking gas cap, fog lights, auxiliarybumper chrome and guards, clock, foot controlled radio station changer, radio, vacuum operated antenna, exterior windshield visor, rear view mirrors, drivers side hand controlled spotlight, Nash logo Kleenex box, Uniscope instrument cluster, Flying Lady hood ornament and lined trunk material. The interior floor matting was replaced with burgundy maroon carpet.

It is powered by the big 6 cylinder, 7 main bearing, OHV overhead valve engine, virtually the same as the Nash Healey. It has a 3-speed manual transmission, and with optional factory Overdrive, is happy to cruise at highway speeds. For safety, the entire brake system was professionally overhauled by CH Topping less than 1,000 miles ago. I have owned it since 1985, it has been covered and always garaged. You can drive the Nash anywhere without a care, as it is always reliable.

There were only 1,541 basic Broughams produced by Nash. This is one of a handfulremaining, fully loaded and the most unusual and attractive you'll find. If you're looking for an automobile that's guaranteed to get attention and admiration, this is the one. There are none better.

Buyer will be responsible to arrange for transport and the car will only be released once all funds have cleared. International buyers are welcome. If you would like to talk about the car, I will be glad to answer your questions.

I've gotten lots of inquiries already for the car in just one day of listing. Thank you everyone that is interested. The car is in Southern California, International buyers can ship from either LA or Long Beach ports. Questions, send a note via Ebays Ask Seller A Question tab and I'll provide my phone number for calls. The car is really a very rare find. Most Nash buyers of the time 1949 era wanted a practical car, 4 doors and bench seats for their family. The Brougham theater seats in the back were very showy for 1949 and two door cars were unusual. It was more sporty then the typical Nash buyers ordered. I suspect the car was ordered for the dealer showroom floor to include and show off all the extras Nash offered at the time.
