Description of 1994 Nissan 300ZX

Up for auction is a one-owner Nissan 300ZX Convertible in Black with a Grey Leather/Pigskin interior. This car was originally leased in the Spring of 1994 with a list price of $43K+. The car had 168 miles when I took delivery as it was driven from the port of NY to Hanover, A. The car lease was subsequently bought out in 1997 by me, he original lessee. Here are some vital dates about this car's history:
Winter 1995: Car was backed into and the rear passenger side was crumpled above the tire. The dent was pulled and filler was used to repair. Glue rod technology was not available at that time, o the repairs could be improved by a new buyer. Metal was not cut, o it is the original fender.
Spring 1999: Windshield replaced.
Spring 1999: New Borbet Rims. Blizzak snow tires were put on the Original Rims. One original rim was cracked during a tire repair and was TIG welded and is usable, ut visually flawed. These rims are included with the snows still on the rims (I am not paying for removal of the tires). The rims are a good candidate for chroming. Tires may be still usable for another person.
Spring 1999: New power steering compressor and fan belts.
Spring 2000: Replaced passenger door motor.
Spring 2000: Last Winter use of vehicle. at 74,000+/-.
Summer 2000: Calipers and rotors replaced at 79,000+/-.
Winter 2000: Installed a Borla Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System at a cost of $1K+/-. This car growls, specially when down-shifting. It actually sounds like it has headers.
Spring 2001: Installed Steve Millen (STILLEN) Filtercharger air intake with polished aluminum bezel and K&N Air Filter. Cleaning kit will be provided as well as all of the stock intake components. This in conjunction with the Borla Exhaust added about 20% extra power.
Nothing new added for a few years, ust simple maintenance and Synthetic Oil changes at 5K intervals. Synthetic oil was put in this car after original break-in period.
Spring 2006: New timing belt, ater pump, hermostat, elts and hoses, nd battery installed at 88,700+/-.
Summer 2009: New fuel filter. It had been changed prior, ust do not have the date written down.
Summer 2010: Front and back strut braces installed. The car has nearly any body roll when cornering.
Fall 2011: New Continental Tires installed. Alignment done. 102,000+/-. The tires have less than 3K total miles on them presently.
Summer 2014: New master window switch and turning lights and directional bulbs.
Summer 2014: Two small areas of rust removed from rocker panels near rear wheels. Work completed by a master body shop technician.
***All fluids have been changed at intervals suggested by Nissan throughout my ownership of this car. Air filter has been cleaned at regular intervals as well. Car passes its state inspection yearly without any issues.***
Let me tell you about some of the negatives with this car's present condition:
It has some dents and dings which can be seen in the photos. The front bumper was backed into and the paint has come crazing on the top of the bumper fascia. The aluminum hood was vandalized last summer and the dent was popped and touched up, ut it is still visible (lower driver side).
There are swirl marks in the paint from amateur detailing. Paint is original except for the rear fender repair mentioned above.
The driver side rocker is gouged under the door.
The driver's seat is worn on the side lumbar support with small tear-through. This is very typical with these seats, specially the driver's seat.
All locks are seized from lack of use due to keyless entry.
Steering wheel has a gouge on top from use.
Oil pan may have a leak on bottom from some rust-through. This is an issue with these cars as it had been replaced once, ut I am missing the receipt. A new pan is $130 + installation. After inspection, t appears that the fluid on the pan is from the power steering rack. See next item.
Rack and Pinion Steering has a small leak. Reservoir has some Lucas product to keep the problem at bay.A new rack is $120 + installation. Reservoir has remained at top level since Lucas applied.
A/C does not blow cold. Barely used during ownership. My guess is that the gaskets are dried up. A new compressor is $300 + installation.
The A/C, ack, nd oil pan would be a smart repair to be completed at the same time as the cross member needs to be dropped for the pan repair and the rack needs to be removed for the A/C swap.
Rear deck lid for convertible top has hand cups which are cracked. Another Z problem as I have replaced these on two other occasions.
Also, he convertible roofs are never snug to the windows on these cars. It has leaked a bit since day one during rain storms.
Lastly, he security system is a battery drain. These cars need to be trickle charged during periods of non-use. I can throw in a trickle charge, s well.
How about some positive things:
Car has been garaged from day 1. It has been parked over a vinyl garage pad for most of the time I have had it. My mechanic is amazed at how clean the bottom of this car is.
Original roof and rear window which has never seen Windex, o it has not yellowed from the ammonia. Please note that in Pic #7, here are some creases showing in the plastic window as the roof was down for an extended period. When the roof is up, hey will fade away.
Original struts and clutch. No burn-outs, ole shots, tc...Driven to survive.
Original metal wiper arms.
Fitted Griot's Garage Water proof Car Cover.
All tools, anuals, nd keys. Main key made from titanium.
Original floor mats in excellent condition from limited use.
A box of extra parts, lips, tc...
Nissan Service manual on CD-ROM.
Actron OBD II Scanner also included in this sale. Not sure you will need it as the check engine light has never been on.
The last comment is that I have treasured this car for over 20 years and I am sad to see it go, ut we are downsizing for a possible move and hard decisions must be made. I have tried to be as complete as I can about this car's condition, o if you need any additional pictures or information, lease contact me and I will try to do my best to furnish you with that. Please realize that this car is 21 years old and was a daily driver for the first six year. There are scratches, ings, ents, tc. This car is not a show queen, ut could be redone to perfection without too much effort.
Delivery is the buyer's concern, ut I can be available for assistance with thepick-up by a mover or the buyer.
No warranty implied. Car is sold As-Is.
Title is in my possession.
The car was washed prior to photos taken. The cars odometer reads a slightly lower figure than what is presently on it as it has been driven since the photo was taken. Presently, t is roughly 50 miles shy of 105,000.
