Description of 1965 Oldsmobile 442 Base |
This auction features 1965 Oldsmobile 442 Cutlass Coupe. This is one of those classic stories that someone found a great car and was intending to fix it up, but 20 years later, here it sits still in un-restored and unmolested condition. The price is right on this car for a great project car that is complete and a true 442 car, not a clone. This vehicle also has a clear title. I also look at this car and think for a small investment, you could replace all the brakes, drop in a fuel tank and get some tires and have it up and running in all its patina glory Body: This car is a very solid, drivers floor has some pit holes in it, but still very solid, trunk also is rusty but sill solid. The rear quarters will require some rust repair. All frame mounts are solid and free of rust. Frame: Solid with no rust or signs of collision repair Engine: The 330 engine turns over and will run off a gas can. Needs a battery. Original correct exhaust manifolds and all brackets are correct and in place. Someone replaced the original intake and carburetor with an Edelbrock Performer and a Holley 650 4 barrel. Previous owner advised the motor is not the original and came from another 1965 Oldsmobile 442. This car has sat for 20+ years and will need a new fuel tank and probably fuel lines too. Transmission: Factory original, unsure of operating condition Interior: The factory original red interior is complete, but the vinyl is in rough shape, as is the carpet and headliner. This is an original bucket seat car with console and tachometer. Factory AM radio is still in the dash. Brakes: While complete are inop. Having set for so long a total rebuild would be in order Suspension: Complete with factory equipped front and rear stabilizer/roll bars and factory power steering Tires/Wheels: Tires are rollers and hold air but are not safe for road use. Wheels are 14” x 7” Rally rims off a 1974 Hurst Olds. Complete with trim rings and bolt on center caps. Included is a matching factory Rally for a spare Included is a solid rear bumper, extra grille and headlight bezels, extra jack and side body trim. (see pictures) This auction is a great buy when you consider the completed value of these cars when restored.
