Description of 1954 Other Makes Kaiser |
This 1954 Kaiser Special two door is a California car 64. 50 miles Last registered in 1965 Body has surface rust only there are no rust holes and a couple small dents (see photos) 6 cylinder engine. 3 speed transmission with overdrive Very Few Kaiser Special two doors were built in 54 and 54 was the last time the specials were built Don’t Let This One Get Away Save thousands on rust repair panels. and body work!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- BODY: The front fenders have some surface rust on the tops but the body has no rust holes even in the rockers. Someone spilled house paint on the hood so it has been sanded and primed (no bondo). I think the paint is original except for the top. It has signs of having been re-painted. There are no signs of body work having been done anywhere on the car. The front floor on the driver’s side had a small rust hole. and the front passenger had two small holes. They have been patched and all the floors have been coated with Por-15. The trunk is solid and even has the original mat. INTERIOR and GLASS: The front seat has been stripped down except for some upholstery on the passenger side (saved that for patterns). rear seat as the original upholstery. Door panels and side panels are original (see extra photos) and the headliner is there but drooping. Before I got the car someone had broken all the glass including some parts on the dash. I found a good speaker grill and a rear window. There is a fellow ebayer selling side window glass sets. all eight pieces for about $320 plus shipping. The windshield is available through the Kaiser club. TAIL LIGHTS: I purchased an inner lens for the right tail light (see extra photos) and the person who was making those said the molds were being made for the outer lenses. That was some time ago so they should be available now. DRIVE TRAIN: The engine is stuck but appears complete. The transmission shifts and the overdrive parts appear to be all there.
