Description of 1959 Other Makes Gazelle

If you like attention then take a look at my little British Convertible. How rare ? Who know, but certainly fewer than a dozen left hand drives are on the road in North America. You may have seen it's cousins, the Hillman Minx and the Sunbeam Rapier . . . they all came from the same Rootes Group factory. Or maybe you're familiar with other UK cars of the time such as MG, Austin, Triumph Herald, Ford Prefect and the like.Singer cars are supported by a very active owners clubin the US and Canada which helps a lot when sourcing parts.
I've owned this car for nearly eleven years and have driven it 1000 miles per year on average. It came to me in New Hampshire from San Diego in 2005 and was used sparingly in the warm weather months. I had it trailered here to Florida two years ago.
The overall condition of the car is very good although I cant honestly say that it is rust-free. It does have a life time of paint chips, dings, creases and bumper bumps. All the gauges function with the exception of the temp gauge which has been bi-passed to an after market meter. The speedometer works but has a mind of it's own and the total miles are likely over the 100,000 mark.
This past summer, it stayed with my mechanic where it was treated to new brakes, carburetor cleaning, wheel bearings and seals, starter motor, battery and a general all-round refreshing.
My wife and I have discovered that at our age, it is un-healthy driving the back roads of Florida without the benefit of Air conditioning. It's time for this little beauty to move on to a younger care taker.
