Description of 1963 Plymouth Belvedere III

You are bidding on my low mileage, original paint 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. This is truly the“little old lady” car that everyone hopes to find! This car was owned by the original owners until 2014. At that time the title showed 40k original miles, it now shows 43k original miles. This car was then built to what you see now, which is a period correct 426 Street Wedge styled recreation. This car was built right, and built to drive! Turns heads and gets attention anywhere and everywhere! It’s an absolute pleasure and a blast to drive! Cruises down the highway or just through town perfectly!

This car was bought new in 1963 at Perkin Motors in Louisville, KY by Mr. Gerald & Alice Goebel. The car stayed with them in Louisville until 2014. This was Alice’s car that she drove up until she was not able to drive anymore, she loved this car! The car came from the factory with the classic slant 6 with push button automatic trans, along with the white paint and beautiful red interior that you still see today!

When the slant 6 was removed in 2015, a correct 1963 B-body V8 K-Frame was installed. It was stripped, powder coated, then fitted with all new bushings and front end parts along with Hotchkis V8 torsion bars. At that time a set of 1973 OE Mopar front disc brakes were installed including all new brakes including hardware, lines, and hoses. The original rear axle was removed and a “newer style” 1965 8 3/4” rear axle was installed. Rearend was built well with a Sure Gripand3:55gears in a 741 case, all new brakes, hardware, lines and hoses. A new factory correct gas tank and straps were also installed at that time.

The “426 Street Wedge” look is accomplished using a late 1970’s 440 engine that was pulled from camper van. It was a low mileage engine that was clean so it still retains the standard bore, cylinders were just cleaned up for the rebuild. Factory OE pistons, rods, and crankshaft were used in the rebuild, this car was built to be a driver! However this engine makes great power on pump gas, and really thumps with that classic Mopar sound! Cylinder heads are the tried and true Mopar 906 heads, fitted with Manley valves. Classic Mopar Purple “509/292” Camshaft sounds awesome, topped with an Edelbrock Torker II, AED custom tuned 750cfm Holley Carburetor topped with a RARE OE 440 Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner. Mopar electronic ignition, with RARE Factory Chrome Chrysler Valve Covers top the engine off.Vintage Doug Thorley Headers push that classic Mopar sound ” Flow Tech Mufflers all the way out the back! Aluminum 4 core radiator with thermostatically controlled electric fan keep things cool at all times, never gets over 190 degrees ever!

Rebuilt 1963 727B Torque Flite Push Button Automatic Trans. with manual valve body, deep pan, and Hughes 2800 stall converter. Also has aftermarket transmission cooler as well as a driveshaft safety loop.

Factory OE Chrysler 15”x7” Steel Wheels on the rear with the RARE OE Chrysler 15”x5” Steel Wheels up front. All 4 tires are newer and in great condition.

100% Factory Original Interior. Excellent glass, headliner, door panels and trim! Original carpet seems to have never been out of the car. Back seat is in great condition, front seat has a few separations and bad places, however it is still original- and cool!Wipers, heat, speedo/gauges, and the original AM radio all still work!Still has original ignition and original Plymouth keys! Underside of the dash is super clean with all factory wiring harness still nice and intact, unbelievable condition! Aftermarket tach and gauges work as they should.

Body of the car is straight and rock solid, I have never seen an unrestored body and paint this nice, truly unbelievable! The doors “click shut” like it would have when new! 80% of the paint is original including awesome 50+ year old “Patina”! A few chips, scratches, paint checks and dings as expected for an original 63, but it is perfect to me!I would NOT repaint this car!! Both lower front fenders have some very minor scale and rust starting in the typical spot, but they have not been touched thus far. It is hardly noticeable.

Floor pans, trunk, and underside of this car are 100%Original and RUST FREE! Unbelievable! Crawl anywhere underneath this car and it is amazing, truly unheard of rust free originality for a 1963.

This car is a true survivor, built to drive and enjoy! It is not a show car, however it gets more attention at the cruise in’s than most of the $50k “show cars”! It has patina, class, and style. If you are looking for a $70k restored classic Mopar, this is not your car. It is truly a blast to drive! OE Power Steering makes this thing so easy to drive, car runs straight and true down the road!

My loss is your gain, it is time to move this classic on for the next person to enjoy. Feel free to call me with any questions317-989-9992.
