Description of 1966 Pontiac GTO

This real-deal 1966 Pontiac GTO is fresh from a frame-off restoration. So you get that big V8 power, four-on-the floor, and iconic style all wrapped in a fresh package.
Martinique Bronze is a great Pontiac color because there's a subtle sophistication. The gold-like tone attracts attention without aggression. That's especially true because this factory-correct color has a fresh luster that really shows that this car has been given recent big investments. So you get the kind of shine that gives this classic hardtop with flying buttress extra distinction. And speaking of shine, you can also see there has been a nice investment in the brightwork on the form-fitting bumpers, headlight bezels, and full trim. And as a true first-gen GTO, this one knows how to have a nice intimidating presence with the hood scoop, wide dual exhaust tips, and upgraded competition-style wheels.
There's plenty of room for family and friends inside with the black interior. You can tell the right investments were made here by the fresh condition of the carpeting, door panels, dash, headliner, and seats. And classic car people will love pointing out the right original features: from the wood paneling around the gauges, to the AM radio that's still on display. But even if you just like going solo, this GTO reminds you it's a driver's machine. You have bucket seats, upgraded auxiliary gauges cleanly mounted below the dash, and a dual spoke steering wheel that gives you a clear view to the full round gauge package. And that large tach goes especially nicely with the Hurst floor shifter.
The engine bay reveals a seriously powerful package. Pontiac's famous 389 cubic-inch V8 looks fresh and powerful radiating from within this dark engine bay. There are even some nice chrome touches on the air cleaner and valve covers. But what you'll really love is the performance. This era-correct V8 was completely rebuilt, bored .60 over, and given the right go-fast goodies. This includes a double-pump four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock mid-rise intake, MSD ignition, and a large aluminum radiator to help keep it all running cool. The consignor claims the full setup is rated at 400+ horsepower and 400 pounds of torque. And the rumble from the X-pipe dual exhaust really announces the power superiority. The four-speed manual transmission has a crisp action for you to confidently take full control over the motor. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, and modern Hankook tires.
Complete with owner's manual and Pontiac Heritage Service (PHS) documentation, this was a full restoration that took two years to complete. So you get to skip the build headaches and go straight to the fun. But the only way to do that is to catch this GTO. Call today!!!
