I am the original and only owner of this pristine one of a kind very early 1st GEN North American production 1984 1/2 Toyota 4Runner SR5.This vehicle is one of original batch of North American production 4-Runners built at the Tahara Plant, n Tahara Japanin March/April 1984. Toyota brought to the North American market this revolutionary new vehicle - the 4Runner. Based on the mechanicals of its rugged (and strong selling) solid front axle 4-wheel drive pick-up truck the 1984 1/2 4Runner combined the versatility and go anywhere ability of 4WD with comfort and utility found in passenger cars. I fell in love with my 4Runner from the first time I seen it roll off the ship in Mobile, labama.I special ordered this vehicle when I lived in Macon, A. My 4-Runner has every factory option available at that time. I am a very meticulous owner and always took every precaution to keep my 4-Runnerlooking and performing at its best. I have owned this Toyota for 31 years and this truck really turns heads everywhere I drive it. It is a really solid vehicle and has 159 k original miles. It has not been a daily driver for the last twenty years. My 4Runner has been in several shows here in the Detroit area and I have had it at Detroit AutoRama Hot Rod & Car Show at Cobo Hall on three different occasions through the years. I now only take it out on rare occasions during the summer traveling to Silver Lake Sand Dunes to play in the sand on occasion. However, he last several years it has basically remained in my garage coming out only a handful of times. So it is time for me to let the 4Runner go. I really want this special vehicle to go to someone who will use and appreciate this truck for what it is. Someone aware of what the 4Runner has done to make its mark to all off-roadenthusiasts. The truck's original 22-R (carburated) engine and 5-speed transmissionhave both been rebuilt at 147k miles. New clutch, rakes, attery and basically everything on this truck has received attention and or replacement. All original interior with no rips or burn marks. I have had custom gray sheep skin cover on the front seats for many years and they still look very good and are very comfortable.The vehicle is very reliable and perfect in almost every way. Through the years I have done many things to maintain my 4Runner to a near showroom condition. Paint protection, iebart inside all doors, ody panels with heavy undercoating for both anti-corrosion andsound insulation. There is no rust on this truck and has never been involved in acollision. I have made several improvements to my 4Runner through the years, ut have alwaysstrivedto maintain the original 4Runner look while increasing comfort and the legendary and highly desired off-road capability of the First Gen 4-Runners. The engine was professionally rebuilt adding a mild cam, orthwestTerritory "Tri-Y" headers and Magnaflo exhaust. Sweet sounding. This truck runs very strongandis absolutely very solid mechanically. The air is cold and all electric windows work. In the back window, installed a new motor, elays and mechanicals. The rear window and front switch that controls it work smoothly and quietly. I have all the original purchase paperwork from 1984 when I took delivery. The maintenance records and paperwork for the 4Runner capture nearly every thing that has been done to this vehicle. Seeing this 4Runner in person always gets comments of how fresh and clean it is. The paint is old school wet sanded high lusterlacquer base with several top coats of clear applied. You can literally see yourself in the paint even when it is dirty. The vehicle is named "King Nothing" with custom pin-stripping applied by the Detroit's own legend Rudey"Dr. Ru" Kutey.
