Description of 1959 Triumph Other

1959 TRIUMPH TR3A SPORTS ROADSTER. SIGNAL RED WITH BISCUIT TRIM. 4-SPEED, TANDARD WHEELS. 2.2 LITER ENGINE. VERY NICE RESTORATION, ECENTLY COMPLETED.
Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very attractive Triumph TR3A Roadster. This car was recently received a body-on restoration to a very good standard which included full cosmetics and partial mechanicals as needed. It was restored with the desirable upgrade to 2.2 Liters, he engine being an early TR-4 "CT" prefixed block with early Stromberg 1 3/4 inch carbs. It is also fitted with an alternator and an improved wiring harness setup.
This car runs and drives with a strong and robust rebuilt engine. The car performs very well on the road. It runs, rives, teer, andles, nd stops as expected from a nice car. The engine has very healthy oil pressure, evs well, nd behaves normally. All the fluids are clean and up to the mark. It pulls hard through it's slick shifting 4-speed gearbox. It has the original non-syncromesh first gear unit installed. The there is some normal, ild gear noise in first gear. Reverse gear appears to have a "chippy" tooth that does have some noise, ut is fully functional. The car is rarely in that gear though... The exhaust system is newer and has a great tone. The car's undercarriage and frame has been pressure washed and painted black at one point, nd appears very clean and tidy for road use. The car is fitted with a new set of 5 correct-sized 165x15 radial tires and rides smoothly along the road.
The received nice body and paintwork to a very good standard. There are no paint flaws or bubbling, ut there are a few edges that have received some touch up. Most all of the chromework and rubber was renewed with a mix of few nice existing original chrome pieces. The windshield and frame are original to the car and are in good condition.
The car is very nicely trimmed in biscuit with matching carpets. The seats are very comfortable and properly padded. The gauges and switchgear are beautiful and crystal clear, ll working properly. There are two new replacement instruments, he temperature and ammeter gauges. The car is fitted with a very attractive alloy/wood wheel with matching wood shiftknob, o give it a nice touch and a good feel going down the road. Heavy duty lap belts are fitted in black with aluminum clasps.
Currently, no weather equipment has been fitted but the car includes the original un-restored soft top frame. The top and sidecurtains are rudimentary at best on a TR3A. I would recommend fitting a nice tonneau cover, s the car has only been used in perfect weather since the restoration. That's really all that a sidescreen TR needs, nless you plan to drive it in the wet...Overall, his very attractive and pretty TR3A is nicely restored in the right colors, nd runs and drives very well with it's upgraded 2.2 Liter engine. It attracts a lot of attention on the road and is great fun to drive and be seen in. This car represents excellent value when compared to current restoration costs and the buy-in price of a donor car.
